Positives, solid performances from the main cast - unsure about Sammy's muttering throughout. Score was good but the plot and the need for this movie to be two hours plus, unnecessary.
The first hour was a yarn that could have, should have been leaner and more concise. -visually, a beautifully shot and created but too it just felt 'clunky' and a bit of a mess to be frank. Leading characters (brothers) were excellent and so too 'Slim' and 'Annie'.
In summary, I see more of an elegant version of 'Dusk to Dawn'. Interesting concept, thought-provoking storyline but just a laboured movie stitched together with artistic merit and talented actors. .

I'm not sure how to feel after watching this. Plenty of take home messages and reflection but the main driver is to shock and awe the audience with a series of questionable decision making. It's so busy trying to cram car crash after car crash it lost its way mid-way through. Some truly harrowing sense that make you just ask 'why?' but then it veers off into odd scenes and the landlords and police officer characters were just so out of sync to the programme.
Tough watch and ultimately, a strong moral message of how close people sail to the wind to do whatever it takes to be something. I get the higher ratings but such a mixed message show.

Loved the film, and love this series.
Guy Ritchie, the marmite man it seems, but he rarely gets it wrong. Lock Stock, Snatch (best of the bunch), Rocknrolla, The Gentleman are all in the same vein. If you struggle with the Brit mob theme, maybe these films (and now TV series) arent for you.
Brilliant fun, main characters sharp witty and keeps the whole thing ticking along. I flick through the reviews and people need to take life less seriously! A blast of a show, GR's signature cocky wit and charm, I personally can't wait for the second season. A refreshing break from all the heavy laden American shows. Thumbs up to this last jaunt.
