  • A good attempt at remaking the classic

Drushyam is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The film is a remake of the Malayalam hit Drishyam, but it does not lose its originality or charm. The film revolves around Rambabu, a cable TV operator who loves his family and movies. He uses his cinematic knowledge to outsmart the police when his daughter gets involved in a crime. The film has a brilliant performance by Venkatesh as Rambabu, who portrays a range of emotions from fear to courage. Meena, as his wife, is also convincing and supportive. The film also has a strong antagonist in Nadhiya, who plays the IG of police and the mother of the victim. She is determined to find the truth and bring justice to her son. The film has a tight screenplay and a clever twist at the end that will leave you stunned. The film also has a good background score and cinematography that create a tense atmosphere. Drushyam is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good suspense drama. It is a film that will make you think and appreciate the power of cinema..

  • A different experience

Rangasthalam is a Telugu film that depicts the life and struggles of a rural community in the 1980s. The film is directed by Sukumar and stars Ram Charan, Samantha Akkineni, Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. The film has received critical acclaim and commercial success for its realistic portrayal of the village politics, the gripping narrative, the stunning cinematography, and the stellar performances of the cast.

The film revolves around Chittibabu, a partially deaf farmer who lives in the village of Rangasthalam with his brother Kumar Babu. Chittibabu is a simple and honest man who loves his brother and his village belle Ramalakshmi. Kumar Babu, on the other hand, is an educated and idealistic youth who returns from Dubai and decides to challenge the corrupt and oppressive rule of the village president Phanindra Bhupathi. Bhupathi, who has been ruling the village for 30 years, has a nexus with the local MLA Dakshina Murthy and the co-operative society that exploits the farmers. Kumar Babu's rebellion sparks a series of events that lead to a violent and tragic climax.

The film is a brilliant example of how to blend the elements of a commercial entertainer with a realistic and meaningful story. The film has a strong emotional core that connects with the audience and makes them root for the characters. The film also has a lot of humor, romance, action, and drama that keep the audience engaged throughout. The film does not shy away from showing the harsh realities of the rural life, the caste and class conflicts, the feudal oppression, and the political corruption. The film also raises some pertinent questions about the role of democracy, the power of the people, and the need for social change.

The film is a visual treat, thanks to the excellent cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, who captures the beauty and the brutality of the rural landscape. The film is also enriched by the music by Devi Sri Prasad, who composes some catchy and soulful songs that suit the mood and the theme of the film. The film also boasts of some remarkable performances by the cast, especially Ram Charan, who delivers a career-best performance as Chittibabu. He completely transforms himself into the character and brings out the innocence, the courage, the vulnerability, and the anger of Chittibabu with utmost conviction. Samantha Akkineni is equally impressive as Ramalakshmi, who is the epitome of grace and charm. She shares a great chemistry with Ram Charan and adds a lot of freshness and liveliness to the film. Aadhi Pinisetty is also commendable as Kumar Babu, who is the catalyst for the change in the village. He portrays the idealism, the frustration, and the sacrifice of Kumar Babu with sincerity. Jagapathi Babu is menacing as Bhupathi, who is the embodiment of evil and tyranny. He makes the audience hate him with his cold and cruel demeanor. Prakash Raj is also effective as Dakshina Murthy, who is the mastermind behind the political conspiracy. He plays the role of a cunning and manipulative politician with ease.

Rangasthalam is a film that deserves to be watched and appreciated for its honesty, its craftsmanship, and its entertainment value. It is a film that celebrates the spirit of the rural people, their culture, their values, and their aspirations. It is a film that exposes the dark side of the rural society, its problems, its challenges, and its tragedies. It is a film that inspires the audience to think, to feel, and to act. It is a film that proves that Telugu cinema can produce quality content that can appeal to the masses and the classes alike. It is a film that is a milestone in the history of Telugu cinema.
