I watched this movie for who knows what reason! I never managed to get attached to any of the character or interested by the plot. There was no plot, no story. Nothing happens.
This movie is slow and depressing. Ray Romano's acting is boring and depressing. The mother Angela is boring and depressing. The kid Matthew, aka Sticks, is depressed and depressing. The only refreshing character is the new girlfriend. There's no comedy, no funny moment.
Oh and the fixation of the father about Rocky is annoying. He keeps quoting the film Rocky and it's gets old, like his wife said: that was 40 years ago!

The Four Seasons follows three old time couples who vacation together each season, hence the title. When Nick and Anne, the oldest of the couples, divorce, their seasonal routine is in jeopardy. And then Nick brings along a younger girlfriend and each couple has their own struggles.
Most of this mini-series is funny. Tina Fey's character is not really likeable and often dry instead of funny. The funniest are the gay couple. But then comedy turns to tragedy and the series becomes heavy and boring.
With classical music playing throughout, this reminded me a lot of Quebec's classic "the Decline of the American Empire" (how fitting a title in these times we're living!) where a group of scholar friends vacation together and have profound discussions about life, sex, love and politics. Except that in Four Seasons, discussions are not as deep and mostly about relationships.
Good watch for a gloomy day.
