  • Classic British TV - a la Minder

I think this was a great show, but then I really love that era of British TV. The mis-match pairing of the disgraced, bent ex-copper Ronald King (played by Derek Martin - Charlie Slater from Eastenders) and the hard done by, and entirely too honest David Castle (played by none other than Nigel Planer - Neil from The Young Ones) works very well and is reminiscent of Arthur and Terry of old. Ducking and diving in and around London, these two hold the story lines and scripts together very well and it all makes for great entertainment. As always, these things can look a bit dated as time passes, but the fans of this era will find this a lot of fun. The hard part will be finding it on VHS or even harder still, on DVD.
