I've never seen a show that is so ridiculous, quirky, intelligent, and poignant all at the same time. Nathan Fielder manages to create a world that feels so staged, yet real emotions result. It's one of the smartest shows I've seen in a long time. This is the edgy stuff Netflix should be doing instead of all their predictable, cookie-cutter shows.
While it's difficult at times to tell what is staged/scripted & what is real, but that's part of the fun. Some of the stories are of course better than others, but there's always something touching & silly about all the stories.
Can't recommend this show enough!! I sure hope we get. Season 2!! Great job HIBO!!!

Forget about The Bear!! Boiling Point captures the stresses of the kitchen & the weight on everyone's shoulders perfectly. It brought me back to my days working in kitchens around the holidays. I'm still on edge .... But in a good way.
The fact this was done in one take is so impressive. Kudos to all the actors and their dedication. Every actor looks like they really know what it's like to work in a professional, high-end kitchen. The writer also captures the tension between the FOH & BOH beautifully. Nothing is over-dramatized here. We are watching a stressed out chef getting closer to the end of his rope. Hard to watch at times.
Really well done movie!!
