  • Goldie, why?

Some jokes were too much for me, but that is not the point. After a time I had to stop watching it altogether because I could not look at Goldie Hawn. (Whom I had loved in all of her movies until now, especially in Overboard.) She looks like her face was photoshopped... like she has a stocking on her face... like she was somebody from The walking dead.... like her face was missshaped... like she was in the Muppet show... I just can't find the words for that. I already saw some pictures of her where she looked deformed, but that...oh my god. . The problem is not that she was in this movie... but that she was anywhere looking like THIS. Poor Kurt Russell. :)

  • Better than the first one

I don't get why people dislike this movie, for me it was much better than the first one. I read all Reacher-books, however, I disliked the Jack Reacher (1) movie. I had no problem with T.Cruise being Reacher, but I hated how he acted and spoke, for me it was kind of strange and ridiculous. I suppose that must have been some American thing I cannot grasp. :) And I hated R. Pike looking dumb with big eyes all the time, and I disliked Jay Courtney's character and acting as well.

But with this I had no problem, Cruise became a better Reacher, both ladies were interesting characters and good actors, and there was action enough. And I liked the cinematography. In my opinion similar movies normally have 7,1-7,3 out of 10, not 6,1....

  • I don't understand this 8/10......

Suspense? Thrill? Edge-of-your-seat-movie? After seeing these words in the reviews, I couldn't wait to see the movie.... and for me it was just boring, absolutely no suspense at all. Yes, the acting was good, but I hated the father's and the policeman's character as well, so I had nothing out of the good acting. :) Although there were some stunning looking scenes, the whole movie was dark and depressing, and I was surprised when I saw Roger Deakins as the director of photography. I just love his work and would give him not one but a couple of Oscars, but not for this one, it's not so impressive. Before the end it got slightly better, and I had no problem with how it ended, so because of that and because of Roger Deakins it became a 6 instead of a 5 for me.

  • Been there, done that

We got free tickets from Haagen Dazs Hungary (thanks :D) and saw the movie yesterday. The storyline sounded interesting but in the movie there was nothing special or new for us, actually we found it a little boring. OK, we're over 50 :), but my husband is one of the few men who likes romantic movies, more than I do, and he also thought it's good we didn't have to pay for seeing this. I wasn't able to relate to the main love story, I had no idea why they loved each other, but of course I'm not into men who are like puppies in the first place. :) I liked the other romance more than this. I always look up the reviews and the votes here before seeing a movie, I guess this will have 6,5-6,8 points in the long run.

  • Acting at its best

I love Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins since I saw them both in Burn after reading. That was when I started to collect (and see) all movies from the Coen brothers, including Fargo, where Frances McDormand was very good. And I always see every movie which has Richard Jenkins as well. But that here was when I realized how incredibly good actors they both are, it just was magic. Like I was spying on some family somehow, you never felt it was just acting. The story was sad, and sometimes embarrassing, but it had wonderful pictures and it was so.... human. I had to keep looking. And in the end there was hope as well. So maybe I should have given more than 8 points, for the acting was definitely 10/10.

  • Not so bad at all

After reading all the reviews, I was very curious and only bought tickets for the 'cheap Wednesday'.:-) I wanted to see the movie because of B. Crudup, R. Jenkins and J. Bardem, for I like all of them. Of course it wasn't a good movie, just average, but I think I should say a few things: everybody who finds Roberts' character selfish has no idea what life is all about. And that's not my opinion, it's a fact. OK, we don't know why she wasn't happy with her husband, but that was not what the movie was about. You have to accept the fact that she wasn't. Maybe she just felt she didn't loved him enough and hated living a lie. And the other thing, regarding the new jeans for the 'thin' girls, here's the news: it's too late to start watching what you eat when you already weigh 200 pounds... The highlight for me was R. Jenkins. Bardem was also very good, but he played a slightly feminine character which was a bit strange with his looks.
