Fellini, Malle... greats directors for an extraordinary movie based on the novel by Edgar Allan Poe. Magnificent stories where many giants like Alain Delon, Terence Stamp or Brigitte Bardot make the cinematographic dreams for us. An excellent film in technicolor!!!
Enchants this film to Me because it is directed with masterful hand by a sensational director as Julien Duvivier. This film is not inferior other more prestigious films in front of like "Tales of Manhattan".
Wonderful scenes rolled in Black and White and interpreted very well by many stars of exception: Danielle Darrieux, Françoise Arnoul, Fernandel, Mel Ferrer, Micheline Presle... but the best is ALAIN DELON, who shows why is one of the best actors in the world. I have seen this film 15 times. It catches of convincing the different episodies without boring. It's very interesting to see it.
Would be advisable that this magnificent film saw everybody it because it has everything: love, humor, passion, suspense... and unfergettables performances by greats stars !!!

Excellent and strange western co-produced among Mexico and US that does not fall before other films of this genre directed by specialists as John Ford, Henry Hathaway, Delmer Daves or John Sturges. This film itself about enough in style to Allan Dwan or Rudolph Maté with an unmistakably Mexican flavor.
The presence of the great Spanish actress Sara Montiel and of the marvelous one Veronica Lake turn out to be very wise.
And there are, of course, all the ingredients of the western: pursuits, shots, horses, hard men and beautiful women.. Unforgettable.
