The Legend of Maula Jutt executed astonishingly and single handedly dominated the aspects of direction, acting, dialogue, story and above all action. The film showed domains of Love, Dispair, Fear, Hope, Vengence and again above all War.
The Maula Jutt rings the bell even to the population who havent seen the actual 1979 cult classis but every breathing Pakistani is aware of "nava ayaa en sohnya", "main tere ennay totay karanga....." and "maulay ne maula na maray te maula nahin marda"
Bilal Lashari outdone himself. He remade this cult classic in way it was deserved to be made. Broke his own record of making the critically and commercially the most successful film of Pakistan.
The locations and sets, the costumes and the weaponery, he literally renewed the Gandassa culture.
According to me the showstealer was Hamza Ali Abbasi, he brilliantly portrayed the character of Noori Nutt. His expressions, dialogie delivery and appearence all alligned brilliantly with the character.
Fawad khan performed well, his chocolate boy visuals didnt effected role and his long hair beard look made him like alpha male of our industry. His machoism or Maula is one of a kind.
I guess no one could have done the roles better then these two actually.
I never liked Gohar before, after LNJ his character formate changed my reviews for him, but jow after TLMJ i can say he is a fascinating actor who can i dulge in role, perform accents and indeed the madness of makha suited him well.
Rest of the cast including Humaima, Ali azmat, Shafqat Cheema and remainings, they all did well.
The only character which was out of order to its peak was Mahira Khan. She didnt suit the role, her accent was bad as hell and there are 100s of actresses who could have performed her role far far better. One can say her performance was more like "elaichi in biryani".
The sets and screenplay made the normal common story more then whatit actually was. Camera work for Gandasa closeups and the village scenes was awesome.
No song policy had me. It was a good decision for not adding songs to this masterpiece.
Overall the movie is brilliant just like Waar but more reformed and polished direction i say.
It is definitly a worthy watchn.
Watch TLMJ and support our industry.

London nahi jaunga is an average comedy with some moments when you literally laugh out loud and in the remaining you keep questioning yourself how this cringe the jokes and story can be. The angle of our question and differences of our society in love affairs when a girl is involved or when the boy is invovled was well established and they actually meant something.
The movie is about a a true chuadry of a village in Bahawalpur with a strong family who is on the verge of getting engaged to a women he dont love. His life turns upside down by entry of the women of her dreams who is basically from abroad. The whole story revolves around him convincing his love intrest to love him back. The journey comprises of him acting against his whole family and village people, travelling to London and then winning over the her heart.
I must say the only actor who actually left everyone behind in the film was only amd only Sohail Ahmed. Indeed is the most established actor in the whole crew, his whole career of doing theater literally paid off and that theater is i guess the sole reason why he is so applauded in foriegn soil. His portrayel of a Chaudry with some comedy punches and at moments the intensity in his expression is of the limits.
Hamayun Saeed maintainen the essence of his character from Punjab nahi jaungi. Performed well and actially suited.
Mehwish Hayat character had many loopholes starting from ambushing someones family gathering without exposing her identity to making a sudden comeback in London and to end, changing her mind on a few dailogues to a person she really cant stand.
Wasay chaudry is the most unsuitable man for the role of Harry. He dont even give a glimpse of Harry.
One actor who rose in my view is Gohar Rasheed. Never liked him as an actor but his character of Bhatti was really funny at time.
Kubra khans few dialogues were really touchy and literally meant something for people who have been there. Indeed she was the most gorgeous women in the film.
Saba Hameed, Raza mir and Taau ji, they all performed well.
According to me PNJ was scripted and maintained a proper pace as compared to LNJ.
Well its a funny one time watch film which you can actually watch with your family.
As our industry is rising from the ashes, give this movie a chance.

Verna is an intense verdict of the Gods on earth and power hungry society, it truely depict the old proverb " jiski laathi uski bhains".
This movie scars your soul from the bitter truth around you. It defines the VIP culture and if one takes a stand how the feudal lords and earthly gods can assassinate your soul and self respect and in matter need also your life.
Praises to Shoaib Mansoor as he always picks up reality based topics to potray our culture and its associated issues. Indeed the topic of rape in our eastern society is very sensitive and post event circulstances are unexplainably hurtful for the victim and family. But the truch is that we have adopted such a narrow mind set basically from the hindus which is indoctrinated in our soul like many other elements from birth to death i.e our wedding events, our births and deaths and image of widows and rape victims. The way Shoaib directed the movie is fabulous. I believe no one could have done the leading lady role better then Mahira khan in our industry. She acted very well and deserves applause. Same goes for Haroon shahid, even though it was the firat time i saw him, but indeed he did good. He could have shown alittle more insecure and angry at certain stages in movie but overall, he was good Role of Zarrar, he defined the what a the liniages of our so called rulers and the way they consider a common man more of a scum then human was astonishing, i liked his acting alot. Music could have been alot better keeping in mind the brillian music of Khuda ke liye and soulfull main theme of bol. Keeping in mind our industry, such films when complete there twnure in cinemas, should be shown on TV and should be available on stream medias; as it is impossible to search them and watch them. I must say its a definite watch for any person of our middle class society to express them that at times in life, one must take a stand because somethings are worth fighting for.
