If you got rid of the Duke to go in a different direction and then you bring in a replacement who, yes, is different in personality, but is assigned the Dukes position, then in the closing scene of the season you have her visiting him in his home then it's still a male love interest!!!! Yes, this one is brains to the others raw brawn and he's obviously a family man but still a love interest! Also, where is Moses? What an amazing character? Loved him in Snow White. Also raw brawn!!! You are trying to act like letting go of those two great actors wasn't a mistake but it was. New York? Seriously? Because they'd be so welcoming to an outsider! I'm done watching!
I loved the story, but also the different story evolution. Traditionally, this show always lets u see the murderer, which has, since the season began, been the guest star. I've always been opposed to this format because it gets monotonous. I do love this series. It is very original to me. Elsbet's quirkiness, eccentric clothing style and flaky mannerisms are very unique! All this and the great cast make the show successful! I also like that there is a different lead Detective each episode. In summary, the show is very different to most shows featuring a highly observant, uber intelligent, protagonist.
Finally a good story that doesn't give anything away, a problem I have right now with Elsbeth. I was stumped until the end! One thing I must point out is that Holland Roden is wonderful, why isn't she the next Aurora Teagarden. Many times while watching her perform her Maddie character I could see her as Aurora, not only her looks but also her mannerisms and curiosity. Don't get me wrong, her dynamic with Chris McNally is great. The are very good actors. The story moved along at a good pace and I did not find any low points. Interestingly enough it takes place in Detroit and I found that to be very unique. Finally, I would like to reiterate my idea of Aurora Teagarden. I love that series and feel that Holland Roden would be fabulous at it.
