After seeing clip after clip on you tube I finally sought out the film., and you know what, I was kicking myself for not seeking it out sooner.
It had all the Guy Ritchie trademarks, an outstanding cast.. Let's be honest here Mr. Alight Alight Alright eased into the role so well and it shows the talent this man possesses. I remember his Rom Com's then after a Hiatus he just comes out with a plethora of roles that made you rethink him as an A-Lister... I mean Dallas Buyers Club, Amazing stuff, Wolf of Wall Street, the man gets 6 minutes and just chews up the scene making Leo look like an amateur.
How I missed this makes me ashamed to consider myself a fan of cinema, and now that I have ingested this awesome gritty flick I will make sure I don't miss a gem like this again.
Everyone was fantastic, Matthew, Charlie, Colin, Hugh, Eddie, just stellar talent on screen and chewing threw it with ease. Not too mention how the story was told in the style of a Hollywood pitch, delivered perfectly by Hugh Grant.
Seriously thought give it a chance. It may not be every persons cup of tea, and that is cool, it may just surprise you, at least in my humble opinion I think you will enjoy it, and if not, at least you gave it a shot.

It is lie every other car restoration show. I mainly tuned in for Rob "rabbit" Pitts who is well know in the Vin Wiki community and his storytelling is next level.
I watch quite a bit of VINWIKI on YouTube and NGL I prefer their 10-18 minute videos as not only do they show no work, but they have great storytellers who immerse you enough you think you're seeing it.
I think another thing that ruins this for me is Scooter, he is annoying. Pulling the fire suppression system was the stupidest thing anyone has ever done... but this is just as scripted as Rust To Riches, Rust Valley Restorers (Which TBH, is a way better show)
I feel like Rabbit is slumming it here. He is a shrewd negotiator and if you have watched his videos on YouTube you would know he never would have made 1/2 of those deals.
Sadly Rabbit is no longer with us, during filming he learned he had stomach cancer and passed away in August 2024. His funeral was broadcast live on Youtube and contain many social media personalities but also royalty of racing. Ed Bolean of Vin Wiki fame gave the Eulogy for Rabbit and the car community not only lost a great storyteller but also a good friend.
To see this is one of the last things he ever did is heart breaking, and while they had some great projects the antics were boring and repetitive.
Everyone is a copycat of Rust to Riches, the mechanic especially as she is a poor copycat of CONSTANCE NUNEZ.
I will probably tune in for E1S2 as it is supposed to be geared as a memorial to Rabbit.

After seeing a clip of the film on Youtube shorts I hunted this down and decided to give it a watch.
The film has it flaws but the action sequences keep you glued... WHat they pulled off on $40,000,000 is amazing and considering the cast put together the film did it's job of entertaining me for 2 hours...
Is it a Crimson Tide, U-571, or Hunt for Red October... Not by a long shot... It doesn't hold a candle to those films, but it still passed the time and I wasn't checking my phone.
I like Gerard Butler, and while most of his films are throwaways this one would definitely be a rewatch if I am channel surfing and I happen to come across it on one of the cable networks.
The performances by many of the cast are either overbearing (Gary Oldman) or underwhelming (Cardelini)... then there is emotionless (Butler) and just meandering (Common)
But it keeps the pace up very well and you even grow to like many of the Navy Seals characters... all in all it is a mindless popcorn flick that is getting a lot of hate and hey people have their opinions... not everyone will like everything and that is ok. My opinion is I enjoyed it. Would I buy the Blu-Ray for my collection, if I found it for $3.99 at Wal-Mart I probably would, but it would be just another film to add to the collection... I doubt it would ever get unsealed
Anyway, the opinion given is mine and other than the performances I noted above, the film also has some weak writing and it is a by the book popcorn actioner, however let's be honest this film wasn't produced to win Oscars.
Need to shut off brain, give it a watch...
