This film is a tough pill to swallow. It's whiny, unnecessarily emotional, the couple has zero chemistry, even if you like the actors individually. I think it's a film for people who like to feel very sad in a privileged world, though I can't really say because there is no story-arch here.
It really is a bad film from start to finish. In the first few scenes it tricks you into making you think it might turn out to be a good story, but it is not. I sat through the whole thing because I don't like to judge movies I did not watch completely - and I kind of regret it now.

It's as surprising as it is amazing to feel like a movie has actually been built around a real life. The kid is just amazing in the role, absolutely 100% believable and at points you just forget that you're watching a film.
There's really not much more to say here. Watch the movie. It doesn't get a much better than this.
