I will make a long story short (wish the director would have too..) "pirates" 3 is a good triquel, but not AS good as the previous films.
The 2nd film was an upgrade to the first - it presented us with new characters, more laughs and even better action. the 3rd is much similar to the 2nd film, but has less impact in my opinion. it is less funny, way too much dialogs, and very...very...loooooong. almost 3 HOURS !!!... if you have patience, you will enjoy the last 30 minutes which has impressive battles, but its beginning to feel like more of the same. its like the producers thought that the people will come no matter what, so why not give them the same old taste ? its a mistake.
I very much like "P.O.T.C" films, and I will give this 7/10 , but it could have easily got more.

lets start by saying that its probably one of the worst films i have ever seen. worst in any perspective. I love this kind of scripts, you know, the one man against an unknown truth, nobody believes him... the kind like arlington road, mothman prophecies , etc...
i watched this till the end, even though after half hour i knew i should leave, just to be sure i am not missing some twist. but nothing happened. and this is the major problem here - NOTHING is happening. the movie is slooooow, so slow. the good editing and the soundtrack does not make up for lack of STORY.
Torturro is an excellent actor by any defenition, and here he is not using even 10 percent of it. its like getting a Porche for one week as a gift and drive it in 10 mph around the neighborhood.
sorry, for this kind of film and actor i expected nothing but a
4-5 star film. i have to give it 1 out of 5.

see this film only if you want to see how the production missed a
good chance to deliver a potential classic.
i will start by saying the most irritating fact about this film: it had all the resources to become great. but it turned out to be a big mess. it is known that good cast/writer/director not always make up for
a badly written plot. history has a lot of examples. also, it is a fact that stephen king(which i like to read) books are often look bad on screen. only 'misery' 'shawshenk' and 'stand by me' are the best movies that were made according to his novels.
king's novels are hard to transfer to screen because they are complex. non the less, it is no excuse to make such a mess.
there are several parts i didnt like ; - the farts and burps of the fat guy. was it really that nesessary?
"phone call", telepathically, from Jonsey. he then anwsers(?) it by holding his gun(!) as a head set, and speaks to it....i mean, he talks to the gun...come on! - morgan freeman can make roles of two faced persons, the kind you dont know if you should trust. why not using that potential instead of making him seem unconvincing as a crazed , murderous colonel ?
on the whole, this film gives you the feeling that everybody just wanted to rap up and go home .
