  • beautiful!

so i was a huge fern gully fan up to the age of six, and then never watched it again. after viewing it recently, the magic of the movie came back to me, as well as a few flaws. on the upside, the animation is lovely and the scenery is very colorful. the message of the movie is also very powerful, especially to a small child. no doubt, the highlight of the entire film is robin williams' character of batty, who is deliriously hysterical (i may even enjoy him more than williams' other animated alter ego, the genie). there are a zillion plot holes and it's a little bland, but overall, fern gully is more than worthwhile for any small child. i give it a 7 out of 10. see it for robin.

  • see this for the credits - it's that bad.

i was incredibly disappointed with this film. having read the fantastic books, i was ready for a movie version that would only amplify the humor, adventure, and smart structure of lemony snicket's series. however, i was ready to cry by the middle.

excepting jim carrey and meryl streep, the acting in this movie is terrible, especially by the teenage girl who plays violet. carrey and streep's efforts are admirable but honestly can't save this wreck. sunny, the character that always makes me laugh, has stupid translated lines like "what a shmuck!" and "someone's been to crazy town." in short, the film does no justice to the books and i definitely would never recommend it. however, its one saving grace is the incredible credits. the unique animation and music is intriguing and beautiful - too bad you can't say the same about the poor baudelaires.

  • You can't miss Whose Line

It's hard not to love this show to pieces. As soon as I saw it, I immediately became obsessed. First: Drew Carey. He hasn't got that special improv touch, but Drew is the best host. He has as much fun as the audience, and his booming laughter can complete just about any scene. Wayne Brady: He's young and ohhhh sooo talented. His voice will make your knees buckle, I swear. Wayne's both quick and hilarious, and must I mention again his songs and and dances. What a guy. Then of course, Ryan Stiles. The tall guy is the star of Whose Line, and most deservingly. He has great chemistry with everyone, and he's SO FUNNY! Everything he does shines. And who can forget Colin Mochrie?! My favorite! He's sweet, very funny, and most of all, he knows how to salvage just about any scene. Colin's the underdog we all love. And the rotating roster of Brad Sherwood, Greg Proops, Chip Esten, and Jeff Davis are all so special.

WATCH WHOSE LINE IF YOUR LIFE ISN'T COMPLETE! SMILE!

I gve this show a million out of ten!
