The premise is interesting, the story lines are usually pretty intriguing, and Morris Chestnut is super smooth and portrays a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients, but every other member of his team is so incredibly obnoxious and unlikeable that it is sometimes hard to get past them to enjoy the rest. It is as if the writers intentionally decided to make his team annoying. The build up of the Moriarty stuff is keeping my interest and I can only hope that it will be more of that and less of Watson's arrogant, snide, mean spirited, manipulative, cynical, judgmental team sniping at each other.
Watching this show is like sitting in front of a crackling fireplace under a warm blanket while holding a mug of hot chocolate. Most of the negative reviews are from those saying it isn't true to the books or that it doesn't measure up to the original series. Judged on its own merits, it is outstanding entertainment. The story lines are interesting and engaging. The characters are real but likeable. There is intrigue, suspense, conflict, drama, and humor. What there isn't is vulgarity, offensiveness, violence, and sex. And it is all presented with excellent acting, cinematography and first rate production.
If you like violent and vulgar, watch Heist and The Score.
If you like a fun story with a great ensemble cast, watch Ocean's Eleven or The Italian Job.
