I've only watched 2 episodes so far, but I am bummed that it looks like there is only one season.
One of the things about Top Chef that has bothered me the last few years is that they are all master cooks. In the beginning Top Chef had a mix of average people in various levels of cooking. Now it's just super chefs vs. Super chefs.
So, seeing some amateurs along with getting to see some of my favorite contestants from past years is great. Even if they don't bring back another season of this, I hope that Top Chef tries out another combination similar to this.
I also think Gail did a good job with the hosting.

I felt like turning off my brain and enjoying a RomCom tonight but got mostly Rom with very little Com.
Overall... it's wasn't horrible. But if you're looking for a similar set-up, the movie Before Sunrise does it better.
The acting in this was a hit for some (Oliver and his parents) and a miss for others. Hadley, her father, Charlotte, and Luther seemed to all be over the top and not very believable. I really didn't care for Hadley's performance or character in this. She just seemed whiny and flighty and the acting was phoned in.
There were a few moments of realness, but a lot of the movie was fairly contrived... which for the genre, is expected.
I think I wouldn't mind reading the book. To sum up, I'm not angry I watched it, but would not recommend to friends.
