Cudos to Lakefront Pictures! I really enjoyed the story, performances and truly outstanding cinematography. It was great to see RJ Mitte in a leading role and also loved seeing Christian Stolte playing his therapist. I am happy to see quality products coming out of Chicago!!!! I won't get into details as it might be considered a spoiler but I will say it has some great surprises. I love that it is not just horror but also has a considerable amount of drama to it as well. This helps ground the story and characters. This is very well-made and highly entertaining and fun to watch!! Hoping to see more from Lakefront in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed this heartfelt film. It is full of love and redemption and has a solid group of talent on both sides of the camera. Truly well worth seeing. The cinematography is top notch and the story has great characters that the audience can't help but fall in love with. Truly beautiful! It also has some nice story elements or twists that give it a really interesting creative edge in what otherwise might be a more linear or single layered story, in other words it delivers! While is is a faith based film with the characters belonging to the Mormon faith or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints it doesn't try to force it's teachings on the audience but rather presents their faith in an honest and loving way. It really should appeal to a wide audience.
A few weeks ago I watched Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" again, then I read Robert Bloch's book "Psycho". Loved them both!
When I rented "The House at the End of the Street" I expected some type of schlocky "killer in the woods" type flick.
WOW!! What a wonderful surprise!!! This movie has a terrific storyline that in my opinion, rivals and possibly surpasses "Psycho". Totally solid filmmaking with terrific actors. I think the title, while accurate has the unfortunate effect of reminding us of other flicks like "Last House on the Left" which also wasn't a bad movie but just a different type.
This film really was a suspense thriller as opposed to horror. Great great film.
