Joined Nov 2008
Spent the first 20 years of my life traveling with my father (career Army officer then State Department diplomat) and family. Found ways to call it a career a few times before discovering the film business (thank you, Brad Huskinson). Been in sound (mixing and boom operating) since 1988, but working in other areas of films prior to that. I worked as video tape operator, video tap operator (not to be confused with "tape"), grip and electrician since we were a small crew for the first 5 years.
Have worked in network news for 20 years as well and that work has taken me as far as Iraq, Jordan and Kuwait.
Never a dull moment, save for a few board meetings.

  • Good popcorn movie

Review sections are becoming Tweet-oriented arguments.

This is a movie that is a great way of spending 2 hours with a container of popcorn and a drink. The action is well-choreographed and the dialogue is well-crafted and unpretentious.

The English-speaking Russian characters is a directorial decision and I could have enjoyed it either authentic Russian or pre-translated. Just let go and suspend your belief...enjoy!

  • At last

I saw Dominic on Jimmy Kimmel and am SO happy to see this series being produced/distributed. We as the inhabitants of this small rock need to remember that the non-humans are not only important but CRITICAL to the future of this planet. Next time you see a spider inside your home, take a glass, trap it and slide a card or sheet of stiff paper under the spider and glass and turn upside-down. Take the critter outside and let it go. It's not going to hurt you. It's FAR more frightened of you than you of it. All creatures need to be respected. Even the "poisonous" one.

We are all tenants of the blue marble. Live....and let live.

  • Stop the Doo Doo

This is a PERFECT example of what happens when you have morons sitting in a cubicle somewhere, not finding new scripts that have any creativity to them...what to do, what to do. I KNOW!!! Let's rehash an existing script with 2008 software updates, shoot it in Canada with REALLY BAD Canadian ACTORS to save money, use cheap production values and sell the film to immediate overseas release and release to DVD. Did I say hire really BAD Canadian actors? The Mom with a cold? Overacting! The kid's colleagues? ZERO acting chops. Don't BOTHER!

This movie is more than derivative. If the original "War Games" never came out, this film would still be considered a bad idea unworthy of being put to celluloid or whatever medium they use these days. This was a bad idea from the git-go.
