I already loved "Promising Young Woman", but I liked this one even more. It's one of those films in which every little detail was executed in a perfectionist way (almost like a Kubrick work). The kitsch graphics of the opening credits, together with the 4:3 format, immediately caught the eye, but the perfect cinematography, the originality of the framing, the growing tension of the narrative, the quality of the actors, the art direction, wardrobe, sets, soundtrack, the little oddities... all of this contributed to the construction of a masterpiece.
For me, when a film has the ability to transport us into its story and environment in such an effective, intense and intelligent way, it wins me over.

I have the impression that this film wouldn't have the same charm if it wasn't super indie like it is. The story is about someone who invents a time machine and I imagine if there was money, this prop would be terribly sophisticated, the soundtrack would be present from beginning to end (something that really irritates me in Hollywood cinema) and there would be an all-star cast.
So, we have a well-known actress and others a little less so, but they don't do a bad job. I watched the film from beginning to end without getting bored at all, the story is well told and there are moments of tension and mystery. I would like to not reveal anything that would spoil the experience for those who haven't seen the film yet, but I repeat that it's not bad at all and I don't think anyone will regret watching it. It's a relief to watch a film that doesn't need the usual Hollywood gimmicks.

When I started watching this movie, I thought it was another one where some guys try to kill some kids. Then they manage to kill some until there is only one left who is luckier and smarter. This time there is a story and a reason. There is an acceptable narrative construction and well-invented action. Furthermore, the teenage girl is not a hottie whose makeup is never ruined and who always appears in provocative positions. Another interesting thing is that I discovered that the director - John Hyams is the son of Peter Hyams who for me will always be the guy who risked making a sequel to Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece - 2001 A Space Odyssey.
