A real gem hiding between the quirky poster and cheap 90's movie's name.
Had it not had the occassional comedic relief moments (which, for future reference to this director, are not bad just completely unnecessary) this would've been a rather sombre thriller.
Jack Quaid surprises with the depiction of a mentally disordered young man and J. D. Morgan is solid as always.
I played it only because of the short runtime but got pretty involved and impressed.
Give it a chance, especially if you're intrigued by mental disorders, it is totally worth the time.
And the question remains - is what Birdie saw real or again, just a figment of his imagination?

If you get into this movie knowing you're in for a B-grade quality sci fi mixed with a shady lady heroine and can wait for some answers, then maybe you'll have a nice time.
It does feel to drag at times but only because to pull an artistic scene you need good actors, which sadly are missing here.
Decent action, deliberately made medium quality cgi, an okay premise, all make for a watchable 90mins.
Not bad at all, just should be marketed as a B-grade sci fi to set the expectations right.
N. B. - The style reminded me of Blood Machines (2019) a bit - highly original sci fi short btw, I recommend you check it out.

Okay, while we can all agree that this movie is better marketed as "inspired by" rather than "based on" the game itself, which was WAY more graphic, as a movie in itself it's not bad at all.
Yes there is horrible miscasting and some poor acting (unlike Hardy in the Venom movies, where you can see he believes and lives the character) despite the A-class actors, yes some parts of the planet seem too polished and clean, but it's an immersing and exclusive experience, top notch quality, never a dull moment. There are even some scenes exactly like in the games.
The story itself is not the most original but can we really compare 2 twenty something hours' worth gameplay games to be compressed in a two hour movie? I sincerely hope the studios find the courage (and funds) to make a sequel WHICH should be much more to the likes of the fan base rather the general audience - graphic and with a bit more complex storyline!
Honorable mentions - Claptrap is excellent, both character and voice wise, just like in the game, 100% amusing.
Overall - totally worth watching just don't expect to see total ecranisation of the game, more like something heavily inspired by it.
