American Woman is a tragic tale of a respected doctor, Molly Reese, who suffers a traumatic incident which derails her into the world of mobsters and stone-cold killers. Instead of falling prey as another typical victim of the underworld she fights back, at first, sloppy and with little confidence. But as her thirst for revenge grows, so does her proficiency in killing the people who deserve it and we all secretly root for their demise. Sometimes we need movies like this, not to go out and seek revenge, but as a safe place to psychologically vent and root for the underdog. Worth a watch when you're in the mood.
This is a story about Jenna, a successful mom and real estate agent whose life is turned upside down by a tragic incident. Basically, we watch in relatable horror as she spirals out of control and into the underbelly homeless world of Las Vegas. Many scenes are gritty, stark and most importantly, and painfully, very real. At times, you feel so bad it becomes hard to watch, but like Jenna, there is something deep inside that keeps her living and you watching. I think deep inside, just about everyone has a kindle of love waiting to ignite. Some have a raging fire, others soaked in shame and barely surviving. Jenna teaches us to protect that kindle with our lives and never give up. Great story with a great message.
Outrage is a tight and suspenseful take on the world of media manipulation. We follow Kevin Ipson, a journalist, who goes undercover to expose a master in the art of manipulation, in this case, change the course of presidential history. Each actor in this small ensemble cast holds their own, bringing their own identity and purpose to their roles. You never know who's going to win the cat and mouse game until the very end, which definitely caught me by surprise. Great movie for conspiracy enthusiasts and scary to realize what they do in the movie is probably happening in real life. I think there could be a great sequel follow-up.
