I was so mad when this movie did not win an Oscar. It was such a masterpiece. Tamar Halpern spent years getting deep inside the mind and soul of this tortured artist, who is a genius unlike anybody else. The patience it took to really go deep to actually make us feel how the artist was feeling, was a beautiful work of art. Everyone who loves art, music, or film will be fascinated by how this artist is shown, peeled away layer by layer. Such an unusual film, I have never experienced anything like it. Pure genius! I think the only reading it didn't win was because that year there were two movies that followed the subject for years and the other one may have been thought of as more commercial for the general public. Big mistake, a film like this comes along once in a blue moon.

I watched this movie because I often watch anything directed by Tamar Halpern. I look for movies she's involved in because she makes them so realistic. They're frightening and thought provoking, but not so scary that you're uncomfortable. I normally do not like thrillers, but this was fun to watch because it was so well done. The movie is mysterious, you can't immediately guess what will happen next, and I like that suspense. I also like that you think about it for a few days after you've watched it. I recommended this movie to my friends and everyone enjoyed it. Some parts are actually humorous without being silly.

As a mom of three daughters , this movie had me captivated throughout. Well done and makes you think about it!! Every mother should watch this movie. I enjoyed all of it, feeling like it was possible that this could have been true in life. A little frightening, but not so scary as to not be enjoyable. I really liked the exchange between mother and daughter. I always think about traveling outside of the country, what could happen? I wish there were more movies like this. I even watched it again with one of my daughters. She also loved it, especially since she also has a daughter. Very good movie!
