Generally I respect the views of critics, if not agree with them. But... I read the reviews of CCBB after seeing the movie about 8 years ago. I was surprised at how scathing the critics were. So I watched it again and I am convinced that the critics totally blew this one. Yes, I know it's not "Trainspotting" or "Adaptation". Yes, yes, it's not "Fargo" or "Pulp Fiction." But it's not supposed to be!!! Here's a secret apparently the critics missed: It's meant for families. This is a sweet, sweet movie. This movie is unique in that it puts me in the most sentimental, loving mood. It puts me in the best mood. I love songs like "Truly Scrumptious." Perhaps you're past feeling if you hate this movie. And the scary child catcher is perfect. I still remember him from when I saw the movie decades ago as a kid. I unabashedly love this movie!

This is a bit disappointing if you want to be aroused. Much more disappointing if you wanted anything else in a film. Ironically, the star actress only shows breasts in one unsatisfying scene at the beginning. That is very sad because she is extremely sexy. The whole movie you are hoping she will disrobe and give a better view of her talents. Alas. It was not to be. Frustration. And she was so cute.

What we are left with is the 3 daughters of her recently departed hubby and what little they bring to the plate. However, they show a lot. The best scene is when all three of their bras snap off simultaneously when someone screams at them. That is a highlight reel moment! By the way, it appears that all the actors were trying to put on their worst acting possible. The tones of their voices are almost universally so unnatural that you have to wonder if they were told to exagerate till it hurts. My goodness.

This was supposed to be sexy. What a joke! Pathetic. Not having clothes on does not equal eroticism. There are 100's of better films if you are wanting to be sexually turned on. Skip this pathetic time waster.
