A show and season that was gripping from the start and never let go. The murder/suicide plot is very intriguing and the outcome never predictable. I thought I had it figured out at one stage but I had it wrong. Very well done by the writers (which include JK Rowling as the writer of the original novels) and director to steer us down a path filled with such clever yet subtle red herrings.
It's not just about the mystery though. There's the characters of Strike and Robin and their stories. This is very engaging and there's great chemistry between Tom Burke as Strike and Holliday Grainger as Robin.
I'm officially hooked. Give me more!

Supermodel Lula Landry falls to her death in what the police determine is suicide. Her brother believes that she was murdered and hires jaded private detective Cormoran Strike to investigate. This coincides with Strike hiring a new receptionist, Robin Ellacott.
An excellent start to the series. We have an intriguing case and get to know the two main characters - Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. Strike's background is covered well and reveals much about why he is like he is. The writers and director also avoid making him too stereotypical - it would have been easy to make him a slovenly alcoholic but, while jaded and not entirely hygienic, he's not a total write-off.
Tom Burke is great as Strike as is Holliday Grainger as Robin.
Looking forward to the remainder of the season and show.

School's back in and Wednesday's back at Nevermore Academy. This time Pugsley's joining her. She returns to find that she's quite the celebrity due to her saving the school. There's also a new school principal who has some interesting ideas. Moreover, Wednesday has a stalker.
I really enjoyed Season 1 of Wednesday. Refreshingly original, quirkily funny and entertaining while still being quite dark with an outstanding performance by Jenny Ortega it was a fantastic experience.
Coming up to Season 2 I was worried that S2 wouldn't be able to replicate the freshness and quirkiness of S1, that much of the allure of S1 was the novelty of it and that this would wear off with S2. Thankfully, I needn't have worried.
S2 picks up perfectly where S1 left off with the same quirky, dark, fresh vibe. No resting on laurels as the series forges ahead at a good rate. We already have a degree of mystery and intrigue due to the stalker and another plot.
Jenny Ortega is as good as ever, as is Emma Myers as Enid. Steve Buscemi is a great addition as Principal Dort.
Looking forward to the remainder of the season.
