So many questions were left unanswered over the four seasons. Just one example: What happened to the creature Kristen saw born in the field?
And we don't get a resolution with Leland. In fact, we don't get much resolution with anything involving evil.
But maybe that's the point. Were they supposed to eradicate evil from the world? No, that was never going to be the ending. Evil was a show about the journey, not the destination. I rewatched the entire series with my teen, who absolutely loved it. It became clear to me that this is a hangout show. We like hanging with the characters as they investigate, explore, learn, live. We get a snapshot; life goes on.
I will admit that it's frustrating to not know what happened with the 60 and other threads that were left hanging, but we also did get a sort of answer. The assessors will continue their efforts from Rome.
I truly believe there will be a continuation of this show in some form, be it spinoff or just another season. It's too good and too popular now. It may take a few years, but someone will do it.

I liked season 1 at the time, couldn't get into 2, and haven't watched again until 5, which is maybe one of the best things I've watched in years. The thing is, in seasons 1 and 2, the main characters are so u likable. Kirsten Dunst was like nails on a chalkboard. But Juno Temple in season 5, she's perfect. You actually root for her, understand why she is doing what's she's doing. And the end is satisfying. After 4 up and down seasons, I truly think 5 is the perfect formula. After 5, I tried to rewatch 2 because so many people told me it's considered the best one, but it doesn't compare to 5, to me.
