  • powerful work

Avner calls home to hear his wife's voice and check on his daughter who he has only seen once, because he is off killing people. She is learning to talk now and over the phone she utters "dada". Avner begins to cry. Because of this scene, Munich is the only 2005 film so far to make me cry.

The film is heartbreaking, powerful, devastating, and suspenseful. It is by far one of the best films of the year. But then again, what do you expect form the great Spielberg. He presents us a film that keeps us at the edge of our seats hating the main characters because of there crimes against nature yet sympathizing for them and hoping they pull off their mission.

Everyone in this film is bringing there all especially Ciarán Hinds and Mathieu Amalric. Hinds countenance in every scene gives us a character who is mysterious and we want to learn all about and when he succumbs to his final destination, the audience is heartbroken. Amalric on the other hand is one of the best villains of the year. The great thing about this performance because ALvin knows he's tricky but he must use him to complete the mission.

There is one line in the film that stand out as the theme of the film and a theme of life itself: "All this blood comes back to us." And indeed it does. Consider the scene where Alvin and Steve go after Salamah but karma ends up screwing up the mission.

As I said, the film is a powerful piece of work with great camera work, performances, and direction. It is a yet another masterpiece to add to Spielbergs resume. Well done to all!

  • underrated

I have seen this movie thrice and each time it still amuses me. Michael Keaton playing three clones plus the original was really intriguing and he plays it so well. I was really disappointed to see that th overall rating is currently in the 5 area and even more when I found out Siskel and Ebert gave it two thumbs down. I like this movie. I find it funny, especially Michael Keatons portrayal as a feminine Doug and a "special" Doug, who really gives the movie most of its comedy. I give you that it was predictable but I really don't care. If it makes you crack up, it is a good movie, and this is no exception.

Andie McDowell does a fine job too. She might not be talking to three of herself as Keaton was but she was a good opposite to him. THe scenes with the kids are true to life, which also make me laugh.

I overall enjoy this film every time I see it and find myself quoting it the next few days. If your looking for a good laugh, this will feed your appetite.
