I like some of the episodes but what gets me is his attempt of a western drawl. McQueen sounds like he has a pork chop at times in his mouth. I guess there were no speech coaches back then. I rank this show behind Have gun, will travel, Gunsmoke, Lawman, Colt 45., The Restless gun, Life and legend of Wyatt Earp and even Branded, (underrated show). Overall, I don't see what's the big deal of the show except for diehard McQueen fans. Glad he moved on to bigger exposure. Glad he didn't use that God awful accent in other movies/shows. If anyone else sounded like that, they would of likely been blacklisted. LOL.
Here I was expecting a nice, comedic show based on Army life. Not. Obese Sgt. Not allowed. Soldier with long hair. Definitely not allowed, even if hidden under a cap, one must remove cap when indoors, and another that sleeps with his rifle. All weapons are to be secured and accounted for at end of training. This Sgt Bilko ripoff was not thought out properly before creation. Totally disappointed. With proper background help, perhaps this show could of made it. Fortunately, the viewing public was spared any more humiliating episodes of this trash. Glad not enough was created for reruns. I was surprised it lasted thirteen episodes.
The Americans portraying Chinese in this episode was totally laughable and poorly acted. Why would anyone accept a role in this is beyond me. I have gone through HGWT episodes of using white people as native Americans (Indians), but this one was too much to bare. This episode should be kept in a vault collecting dust.
