  • Hope "Sisters" Will Be Released On DVD!

I miss "Sisters," a weekly drama on NBC. There are less and less evening dramas on nowadays. I loved all of the cast, the concept, and the writing. In addition, I particularly admired Sela Ward's acting as well actors Swoosie Kurtz and Patricia Kalembar. Other series I can compare this to are Picket Fences and Providence.

The first time I saw George Clooney was on Sisters, as he played Det. Falconer, Teddy's love (I never recognized him on "The Facts of Life"). Ashley Judd (Double Jeopardy) played Reed Halsey in the first season or two, Eric Close (Without A Trace) played Officer Billy Griffin, Paul Rudd (Object Of My Affection) played Kirby Philby, and Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) played Dr. Sorenson. So, it has been nice that Sisters was graced with the talent of so many talented actors.

Hopefully, "Sisters" will be released on DVD. If it does, I'll be one of the first to purchase this heartfelt series.

  • Love it - hope it gets good ratings

I love paranormal programs, but not just any programs, as some don't have experts on the matter nor the sufficient research before airing. What I have enjoyed about "A HAUNTING" has been the narrator's voice, the fact that it deals with well-documented cases (I was familiar with some cases such as the one based on the book "In A Dark Place," although the names were changed on TV), the interviews with the actual people involved (including many reputable experts and investigators), and the realistic dramatizations. The show doesn't poke fun at the subject, nor does it exaggerate and over dramatize the events. The show simply represents the facts (as given), is non-biased, and allows the viewer to form their own opinions. The music is effective too. I really enjoyed some of the two-hour specials they had on a couple of years ago. Hopefully, there will be enough viewers to get the keep the program on the air.

  • Superb Victorian Drama With Stellar Cast - Powerfully Moving!

I came across "The Forsyte Saga" and its sequel, "The Forsyte Saga: To Let," in my local library. It was the sequel that I had watched first, not realizing there had been a mini-series made prior to this. THE FORSYTE SAGA is an utterly brilliant film, in my opinion, ranging from the exceptional performances of the actors (notably Rupert Graves, Damian Lewis, Gina McKee, Gillian Kearney, & Corin Redgrave), to the screenplay, to the cinematography, to the music (closing theme). The actors executed their portrayals with such realism that I was engrossed in the mindsets of the major players in the film. Such performances are refreshing in the movie industry, as one loses sight of the actors for the "characters." The plot was very good and well written; as such, the movie never seemed to drag. For me, this drama evoked powerful emotions ranging from: deep sorrow & loss (Old Jolyon), to empathy & sympathy, and even a few moments of unexpected humour. I kept wanting more. All in all, this miniseries shows us many injustices, and that dignity, integrity, goodness, and compassion can prevail. If you can set aside an afternoon or long evening to relax and watch the miniseries in one sitting, it will be worth savouring. I hope others find THE FORSYTE SAGA to be a pleasure to watch. I certainly plan to add the DVD set in my film library soon.
