This is one of my favourite cooking shows ever. I really wish it was still on even if was repeats. Each episode featured two chefs cooking their take on a chosen dish or cuisine. I particularly liked the way it did away with the annoying recipe gatekeeping which goes on today, and just makes you want to cook it yourself. Presented by the great Matt Tebbutt.
I Love the Jack Reacher books, and the first season was excellent. This season is of course a great story, but the script is contrived and weak. The very worst part though is the acting of the female lead Sonya Cassidy and her sidekick Roberto Montesinos, they deliver their lines like they're just relieved that they remembered them at all. Sadly there is zero sexual chemistry between Reacher and Duffy and their intimate scenes are clunky and ridiculous. I'm astonished that the director let some scenes through at all. Alan Ritchson is not a great actor but passable in a role he is built for. I hope this series continues but these stories deserve and need better actors and far better screenwriters.
So great to see an American who doesn't just buy into the uninformed, British food sucks cliché. In this series Adam doesn't just seek out Michelin star restaurants or just well known working class favourites, rather we get a mixture of the best of all worlds. You can see that he is genuinely enjoying his eating experience. I noticed that another reviewer doesn't like that Adam likes everything. Well actually he doesn't, and each show ends with an example of dishes that were a miss for him. When Adam enjoys something he describes brilliantly what he specifically likes about the dish. Worth mentioning to, is how likeable Adam is, and at times really funny. Great show.
