I was looking forward to this episode, but was disappointed. The entire episode was too vague and scant with details, to believe that all the animals involved could be classed as "animal mutilations". Instead of showing so many photos of dead cattle, they should have concentrated on the animals that were discovered and analysed shortly after death. Instead, the majority of images were of cattle that were in the mid stages of composition ie. The bodily gasses had inflated the bodies. By that time, approximately 4-10 days, the skin will have begun to dry out, get very tight, with the gasses pushing it to the extreme. The hide can literally split at the this stage, from the pressure, further complicating the scene.
I hope they do another episode on cattle mutilations, because although it's very shocking and sad, it IS a mystery that needs to be solved, and is a subject that is rarely talked about, but they need to concentrate on very fresh cases that are being investigated within the first couple of days of death.
Also, it would be more interesting to travel outside of the US, as cattle mutilations happen all across the globe!

Well, that's a LOT of hours of my life I'll never get back! I've just finished watching the entire 2 seasons of this. It's extremely unusual for me to not look at the reviews on here, and get a general feel for what the series is about, but for some reason I didn't! Actually, based on the mainly good reviews, I guess they wouldn't have helped me. I get a feeling that most of the high scoring reviews are from people that have JUST watched season 1.
I'm a Brit, but I love Aussie movies and series. They are usually a lot more laid back, with gentle (and funny) humour, ordinary looking characters (as apposed to the Hollywood botoxed actors), and storylines that don't race along at 100mph.....at least the ones that I usually watch anyway. This series was supposed to be an Aussie comedy, and was set in the 80s (my favourite decade for movies and music), so I was looking forward to it.
I found this pretty difficult to give a rating! It was just all over the place! It had a promising start....a riches to rags story, and some elements of it were amusing, but I can honestly say, I never laughed once throughout this entire series! There was only one really likeable character, all the way through, another who's character changed completely (maybe understandably), and one matriarch of the family, but all the rest were incredibly irritating, immature, childish, selfish and crass and would just repeat the same boring behaviour over and over throughout the entire series. Then, out of the blue, one episode changes the direction of everything, and the comedy goes out of the window from then on, and it becomes more of a tragedy. The very last episode was the only one that got a reaction out of me....and it most definitely wasn't laughter! It was also incredibly frustrating, and leaves the audience hanging.
