Why this movie has such a low rating is beyond me. Look, is it amazing? No. Is it terrible? No. What is it then? It's a simple movie that you can sit back and just watch without any expectations. I like Charlie Hunnam and wanted to see how's he's like in another movie, so I figured why not. I usually don't even bother with movies under a 6/10, but I just wanted to relax with a movie on. It was a simple movie that kept me entertained. It definitely doesn't deserve to be rated amongst the under 6/10 movies. People rating this must have wanted an epic blockbuster movie or something. The best I can describe it as is simple. Watch it if you have nothing else to watch. Gives you a smile and enjoyment. I'd say it's a good 6.5/10 to 6.8/10. So I'll give it a 7 since I can't choose an in-between rating. Give it a shot if you're looking for an easy movie to watch while you relax.
I genuinely do not understand the low rating for this movie. It had old cast members, there was good dancing, there was a good moral message, it makes you smile and feel good, and there was romance. There was family love and friendship bonds. The dancing was really cool and a fantastical experience. In world today where there is lame dancing and less talent being given the spotlight (looking at you tiktok), this is a fresh breath of air.
Sure the acting could be better, but it absolutely is no where near the worst thing. The story may be a little less put together than the others, but c'mon, this was a fun movie. I'm a tough critic and almost put this one off due to the rating. I'm so happy I didn't. This movie made me feel great and left me feeling good at the end of the movie. I had fun watching the dancing and I was entertained. Isn't that what a movie should be? It may not be the best one of the movies, but there is no bad one in my opinion.
If you liked any of the Step Up movies, you should enjoy this one. I just watched all of them within a 3 night binge. Put me in a much needed cheery mode. Go into this movie for fun and to feel good. Don't expect an academy award winning sophisticated film. Just enjoy the feels and the entertainment. Definitely made me wish I could dance like this and have a family of friends like this.

To keep it simple, this was just a poorly written story with so much changed up from the actual origin stories of the characters, it's just embarrassing. So many plot holes and things that don't add up. Felt rushed and contrived.
-This was a disgrace for John Stewart. Very lame and awful take and twist of who he is. He deserves better.
-Hal Jordan was disgraced and made into everything he isn't. What a horrid dismantle of the character.
I was excited to see a John Stewart movie as I really enjoyed him in the old Justice League animations. This was so far from that version that it felt like a downgrade. The whole story line and his origin was rushed and changed.
I felt nothing for the story. Nor was it introduced and explained well. Stuff just happened.
I'll give it a 4 for the good animation. Though I found it weird that Hal had dark brown hair and then suddenly was very light brown to reddish. But that's just a minor observation and doesn't really contribute to any of my rating.

Again, this episode had a lot of humor and dragged on a bit. 2 episodes in and not much MoonKnight and Marc Specter until the last couple minutes of the show. I'd like to see more of Moon Knight in action. With only 6 episodes, I'd expect a little more Moon Knight action. The CGI feels excessive too. Very obvious and rushed. This isn't what I wanted in a Moon Knight live action, but it was still entertaining. Hoping it gets better. For what it is, being a Disney show displaying a more mature gritty character, it's decent. Looking forward to next week in hopes to get more Moon Knight on display in all his Glory.
I seriously had to make sure I was watching a real Halloween movie and not some skit of a Saturday night live parody type deal where they mock the themes of horror movies for comedy. This was dreadful. Only kept watching for entertainment with the people I was watching with, it's so stupid it's hilarious. There's absolutely nothing about this movie that's believable or acted well. The actors/actresses, the extras, and even the main top billed actors/actresses were all laughably bad with their bad over the top theatrics and actions. This movie would have sold better if it was a purposeful comedy or something.
It's like a bunch of amateur high school theater kids made this movie based off of tropes and elements of the Halloween movies. I'd be embarrassed if I was involved in this. Everyone in that town was incredibly stupid, inept, lacking in situational awareness, and absent of common sense. That's how Michael wins, he walked into a town with people who have a collective IQ of less than a child. "He's a 6 year old boy, with the strength of a man, and a mind of an animal" or something similar that was said in this movie. So a man who is mentally ill causally wiping out morons via natural selection on his way to his old house. That's the whole movie in a nutshell. I cannot stress enough how incredibly ridiculous this movie was. The worst Friday the 13th movie made more sense than this comedy skit. You actually root for Michael in this almost.
As you can tell, I really disliked this movie. Don't bother if you're looking to watch a good movie, a good slasher, a nostalgic Halloween movie, or just something interesting. Watch with friends or family so you can laugh at it with them. The over dramatic acting alone is worth laughing at. Or the cringey over dramatic monologues.
2 stars for the fact that Michael looked cool.

If you're a fan of the actual character Venom, you know, the monstrous villain to Spider-Man from comics and cartoons, then you'll hate this. This isn't venom at all. Not the story, not the origin, and not even the same character in personality. This is a funny buddy cop type anti hero movie with a character that borrows most of the looks from an actual established awesome character from Spider-Man's world.
I can't stress this enough, this isn't Venom the cool alien villain who is a mockery of Spider-Man and one of his best villains. Venom shouldn't even exist without Spider-Man, not in name or looks. Venom's looks come from Spider-Man's looks. Everything about Venom comes from Spider-Man and the anger both the symboite and Eddie have towards Spider-Man. He isn't a good guy with stupid jokes. Venom is the combination of Eddie and the symboite, the name deriving from Spider-Man to challenge him. No Spider-Man origin of Venom gives venom no purpose. He's just a silly alien with a human body which allows him to form into a tangible monster. Eddie kinda just takes a back seat when the alien symboite takes over. They should work together as two beings forming into one being, that being is called Venom. This movie treats Venom like a friendly demon possessed Eddie and now they've become buddy roommates.
This movie isn't remotely representative of the actual venom. It's like they made up a whole new character and borrowed venoms looks for the most part.
I couldn't get past that aspect as it makes everything make no sense for venoms existence. However, if you know nothing about Venom or Spider-Man, you might like this movie. It's entertaining for sure, but even then, it isn't that great of a movie. Very mediocre.
I'm a die hard Spider-Man fan and grew up living in the world of Spider-Man, he was my everything as a child. I loved venom as a character and he was so cool against Spider-Man. One of my favorite villains. This movie made a joke out of him. I want to see the actual venom in an actual Spider-Man origin film.
This would be a somewhat fun movie if it wasn't suppose to be about Venom from Spider-man's world. I can't get passed the disappointment. Sad this movie will probably soon take over on what venom actually is and people will love Venom due to this movie, and not love the actual venom from the source material. Just more reshaping of characters and leaving the original ones to slowly fade away, watching as their name and looks are stolen to form a new version that loses the heart of what made them a character worth loving.

If you have Hulu, just watch it without expectations. It's a fun ridiculous movie. It's entertaining, just like movies should be. It's Sunday night and I'm having anxiety for Monday, I put this on just because I had the option. I expected it to be really bad or have jokes that drove a point politically. I was wrong. I genuinely laughed and it made me feel good by the end of the movie. Just one of the movies that you watch and you're happy you did because it was a breath of fresh air. It was an easy movie to just put on and relax to, with some ridiculousness that you can't help at least smirk at. I actually really enjoyed the movie and it had some wholesomeness to it too. It's a simple movie that's unrealistic, but that's the entertainment and comedy of it. I'm throughly pleased with it and it distracted me from my stress.
The beginning of the movie was so badly acted with cringe I thought it was purposeful. I legitimately thought it wasn't meant to be taken seriously and was making light or a mockery out of actual horror movies. Then as the movie progressed, with the dialogue and unnatural sense of conversation, I had to check again to make sure it wasn't a comedy. It was just too many cliches and awfully cringy exchanges of dialogue. The movie would have worked if it committed to be a comedy instead. However, sadly, it was determined to be an action thriller horror movie. My family and I actually got some laughs in from how dreadful the line delivery of actors and actresses where. The writing was terrible.
I was finished in the jail scene. I won't ruin it for you, but if you have hbo max at home, fast forward to a point just as you see the main actress in a jail cell full of women. Play it. You'll thank me. It's hilariously bad and over the top. Like a rated R "you're not you when you're hungry" snickers commercial. It was so stupid that it was brilliant. Absolutely not what it was going for, but I needed that ridiculousness to laugh at. Definitely a movie moment you'll show your friends too.
In conclusion, don't watch this thinking it'll be a scary movie with ghosts or demons. None of that is here. The concept is creative, but it doesn't work here at all, perhaps due to the horrible writing or acting. Watch this if you're bored and want to have fun making fun of a scary movie. You could watch this all by yourself, you'll go to sleep with a smile from laughter instead of fear. Perfect cure for if you already can't slept from a previous scary movie you watched.

I really wanted to love this. It looked cool and it finally had something I wanted to see for a while, Jensen Ackles as Batman.
However, this movie just didn't hit me or get my excitement up. Something is just missing for a good Batman film. The story skipped around so much and without warning or good transition. There was no good attachment to the characters, I didn't really care about anyone. Felt rushed.
As much as I wanted to love Jensen as Batman, he just didn't play a convincing Batman. His voice sounded too macho man and try hard. I really hate to say that because I waited so long for him to play Batman. I have to be honest though and not biased, Jensen just didn't have the Batman/Bruce Wayne in him here. Especially compared to Kevin Conroy. Even the actor who played Gordon would have been a better Batman voice given a little more emphasis.
Maybe someone will feel the same and explain it better than I, but something was just missing in this film that was capable of convincing me it was Batman.
I give it a 6 because it's still entertaining and will help scratch an itch for a Batman craving for a little bit. But if you're expecting an amazing display of Batman and his world, don't get your hopes up.

Most of the 1 star reviews have it right. I gave it a little more because I enjoyed some of it.
The acting ruined it for me. Especially the actress, McNamee?, for Sonia Blyde. Bothers me more so that she thinks she's so awesome in real life too, as an actress. She was so awful in this, it ruined the movie for me. Every single scene she was in was awful. Find someone else to play her. There was nothing she did right. Awful dialogue, awful jokes, awful delivery, awful cinematography for fights, and awful story.
The lead actor for Cole wasn't very good either, as his delivery in dialogue was very apparent in regards to acting or reading from a script. Character was kind of lame too.
Why'd they race swap Mileena? She should have been Asian. Or at least an actress who knew how to fight. Mileena and Sonia's fight was so hard to watch. So stiff and slow. I can tell at least that Sonia's actress can fight a little, but Mileena's....no.
Jax was cool, however, we hardly saw him and he should have lost his arms to Goro. Both characters were neglected and wasted. I thought Goro looked cool and was presented lame. Jax, in my opinion, was awesome and I liked the actor. But again, hardly there.
Guy with the hammer, I forgot his name, was just stupid.
Wasted Reptile. Completely.
Finale complaint is I wish they made SubZero and Scorpion cooler. Or at least we saw more of Scorpion. He was the reason I played Mortal Kombat way back when I was a kid.
I still feel, though, that a potential sequel could happen and it could learn from its mistakes. Here's hoping.

Review
Was this an amazing movie? No. Was this an awful movie? No. Was it entertaining? Yes. Could it have been much better? Yes. Was it bad because of Brie? No. Was it more so "bad" writing? Yes.
There's been a lot said about this movie and a lot of misinformation/insinuation on it being bad because of Brie, politics, man hate, white bashing, and inaccurate display from source material. I'll start by saying this, I consider myself more libertarian who leans towards conservative. I know this shouldn't matter for an opinion to have any value, but we all know it does. Anyway, I strongly dislike movies, especially comic book movies, where politics rule the narrative, men are seen as evil and stupid, white people are all evil, victimizing people, and making women only good by making men bad. All that and more is what I was expecting from this film. While there is a smidge of it within the movie, it wasn't enough to make me irritated. In fact, I hardly noticed it once I didn't force myself to see everything as a political statement. I actually like Brie. I don't think she was anywhere near the problem of the movie being less than good. She's fine. However, there lies the problem. If politics and Brie weren't the issue, what was? The writing was. Respect to characters and comic accuracy wasn't there. Everything felt rushed and hurried to get a 2hr movie out there. I didn't feel invested into the story or the character. Everyone, every actress and actor, felt cheesy and corny. They didn't show off their known talent. It felt like a B movie rather than a marvel movie. Every character felt dumbed down for humor's sake. It was a disservice to the actors and story. Jude Law, Brie Larson, Samuel Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Djimon Hounsou, to name a few, were wasted talent in my opinion. Nick Fury's character was a disgrace as he should have been a very lethal and skilled agent, a badass, if you will. The way he lost his eye was the biggest insult to his character. Mar-Vel is a male and should have received more screen time and story. In my opinion, Jude Law should have been him instead. This is the second marvel movie were Djimon was absolutely wasted. I dreamed, as a kid, for him to be Black Panther, such a spot on pick he would have been. Next, the Skrulls...they were wasted concepts in this movie...they are a powerful villain in the marvel universe.
I think with better writing, a better director, and more budget, the movie could have been amazing. I, nonetheless, enjoyed it a little bit and I actually like Brie. But, like every other actor/tress involved, she didn't have much to work with. So in conclusion, I'd say watch the movie with an open mind first before you condemn it as a politically liberal disaster. It's entertaining and fun. Definitely not great and definitely corny, but something to watch. It isn't the worst marvel movie in my opinion, which is, for me, Spider-Man far from home.
I hope Brie gets another shot at Captain Marvel and this time, have it more in-depth and more serious...peppered with humor, not saturated with corny one liners.
