Help! Please someone explain what the scene with Banderas pushing someone on a stretcher in a Hospital meant. I ran it a few times and there is definitely someone on the stretcher.

In general the film was just okay. There were some lovely scenes between Neeson and Linney. And the chess scenes were suspenseful.

Neeson and Banderas, my favorite sexy guys are still great looking and fine actors but age is starting to show. And Banderas looked so petite!! Laura Linney is always delightful. The photography was lovely.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the meetings of Neeson and his daughter in the streets of Milan seemed very unbelievable.

I happened upon the film on French television. It was very well done. Gregory Peck gave a wonderful performance. The changes in his character and his anguish were felt. I was impressed that in 1970 there was a nude bedroom scene. I did compare it to Damage with Jeremy Irons and what they visibly display nowadays. G.P. and Tuesday Weld did a great job without that display. Ralph Meeker was a charmer as always. It does not require an R rating. The incest was suggested in a subtle fashion. Albeit an eerie moment. The photography was very interesting. I am not a Johnny Cash fan but his music was fitting. Loved the film. Azignon

I am living in France now and have seen repeats of this film on TV. Alain Delon and Van Heflin keep getting better and better each time I see the film. Ann Margaret is soooooo bad and gets worse and worse. The little girl is obnoxious. It is all predictable but Delon and Heflin make it worthwhile. I wish I had seen the film in the sixties. It would have been interesting comparing my reactions to the film in different time periods.
