I really tried watching this a few times, but it's just unbearable. It feels like a parody of the original show-completely detached from reality. The writing is shallow, the tone is clownish, and the women are portrayed as irrational and stupid. It's hard to believe this got approved. What were they thinking? Is it really that difficult to write a decent episode? This is not just a bad reboot, it's a full-on mockery of a show that once had depth and charm. It's sad to see the legacy dragged through the mud like this. Who is actually putting money into this disaster? I totally understand why Kim Cattrall wouldn't go back.
I hate to say it, but Natalie Portman's performance in this film was surprisingly underwhelming. She's a talented actress, no doubt, but something just didn't click here-whether it was the direction, the script, or simply a mismatch between her style and the character's demands. Her delivery felt forced at times, lacking the emotional depth or nuance that the role seemed to require. It was hard to connect with her character, and that disconnect made the whole experience feel flat.
That said, I don't think all the blame falls on her. The film itself feels like a retread of ideas we've seen countless times before. The plot follows a familiar formula, and instead of offering a fresh perspective or engaging twists, it relies too heavily on clichés. The pacing dragged, the stakes never felt real, and even the visuals couldn't save it from feeling generic. At this point, this type of movie just feels creatively exhausted-like it's ticking boxes rather than telling a compelling story. Ultimately, it was hard to stay invested, and I walked away more bored than entertained.

I feel betrayed-20 dollars gone, just like that. I could've bought a pizza and still had change for a bad B movie, which, by the way, would've been a better use of my time. This "sequel" feels like the filmmakers got together, realized they still had leftover snacks from the original movie's wrap party, and said, "Hey, let's make something... anything." And wow, did they deliver on the "anything."
I mean, seriously, it's like they found the script at the bottom of a recycling bin, dusted it off, and said, "Yep, this will do."
Congratulations to everyone involved; you successfully turned a much anticipated movie into pure cinematic dumpster diving with music on the background.
The highlight of my evening ended up being the popcorn, which had more flavor than the entire plot.
