Great concept but the wife and daughter characters are so over the top that it truly drags down the quality of the show. Season 2 writing should reduce the screen time down for these two considerably. The oil side of the story is extremely interesting and unpredictable. The cinematography is top notch given West Texas is an ugly setting. Aside from the wife and daughter the acting is fantastic and there are some scenes that are reminiscent of Sheridan's other productions. Despite the aforementioned character issues I can advise that Landman is a good watch but what Billy Bob show isn't? Good luck to each and every one of you!
I would have to say that all of the negative reviews dated before March 24, 2023 are proof that those people couldn't wait to rip a remarkable series before knowing its conclusion. I do understand society's general impatience and willingness to find fault with most everything. How can any reviewer be taken seriously before knowing the conclusion of the film.
Growing up in the 70's I felt this series was an authentic look back to one of the best times in rock history. Those of us who were lucky enough to buy vinyl, attend concerts, and listen to FM yearns for those days. We all know those days will never return, but shows like Daisy Jones and The Six can remind us of how lucky we really were.
