Unfamilair with the comic book from which this film is based, I was simply interested in seeing it from the trailers. From the feeling the trailer gave me I wasn't sure if the film would disappoint or not but thankfully it did much of the opposite. Keanu is not one of our greatest actors but the story is interesting and Rachel Weiz is pretty incredible the whole time. The special effects are fun and what made this action flik better then most was the fact that you actually gave a damn about who would actually live or die (which you are not entirely sure of when you watch it for the first time). I give it a "good to go" for anyone interested in it.

An "independant" film that, from the back of the box, promises twists, adventure and an emotional adventure we will never forget. This film also fools us into watching it by flaunting Rachel Lee Cook with a starring role. After the first twenty minutes, you realize that this movie is going to give you NOTHING. The story goes on aimlessly, revealing nothing new or important to keep us interested. All three "disturbed" characters have only small grains of back story to force us to care. Just as you reach the end, everything about the story is altered and instead of helping the audience catch up, you are left with no idea, and more importantly, no interest in "why". The director, who also thought it would be a good idea to co-star, seems to come into the film with no prior experience or knowledge of useful filmmaking. The entire piece looks like a college "art" film crafted by a freshman film student trying to hide a lack of true talent.

This may be a simple, adult late night B-movie, but I feel that when you make one in an unusual setting like an ancient egyptian horror tale, you might include some talent on the director's part. This movie tries to be interesting with flashbacks tto ancient egypt which boast locations that are so obviously the producer's backyard in California which just happens to have palm trees in it. With the digital special effects they bothered to include in this "skin flik", you'd think the least the director ccould do was direct the mummy not to walk like an anal exam victim, or maybe the director could have included at least ONE CREATIVE CAMERA ANGLE.
