Once upon a time, in the wild and woolly '60s, before there were VCRs in every home, I watched this program on TV. I was a kid myself, and I loved the Cowsills. (And I still do, BTW.)
And Buddy Ebsen? What can I say? I was charmed by this fine, sweet gentleman, especially when he was talking, singing or dancing with Susan, who was equally delightful.
Sometimes bits and pieces of the song and dance from this program pop into my brain. For anyone who thinks the '60s were all about sex and drugs, or the prelude to "That 70s Show," it could be a revelation. It is filled with fun, enthusiasm, talent, and love, and it is every bit a '60s kind of thing.
I have a friend who knows the Cowsills. I'm going to have to ask her if anyone might have a reel of tape with this gem on it stashed in a closet somewhere. Oh, how I'd love to see this again....
