The plot itself is ridiculous. And the scene where the protagonist reforms is a big facepalm. I seriously don't understand how Arjun Sarja who had done 100s of films even advised his nephew to act in this trash! Movie is full with irritating cheap dialogues, brahmin bashing for no reason. It also hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus again for no reason. The protagonist can't act or emote properly even in a single frame of this movie. They just got lucky to market this trash using his physique for the movie and the song which went viral because of a mistake done by a background dancer. The movie was only 3.2/10 on imdb when released. Now it's 5/10 because of the influx of 10/10 ratings spammed by the marketing team of the movie.

The first half really tires us with pathetic comedy, poor performances and lacklustre and unnecessary songs.

The interval had a really good twist which created a hype for the 2nd half of the movie. But again it fell flat with cliched and poor comedy.

The main problem of the movie is the screenplay and direction. The screenplay is not interesting at all and the direction is way poor. The characters make us feel watching an amateur skit instead of a movie. Most dialogues have a big pause before the next person speaks. I wonder if they added the footage without editing and just muting the cues during the shoot.

Overall a waste of time and a wasted opportunity.

The movie is a blatant copy of the superhit movie Saamy which came 13 years before this. The story structure is so similar even the end except for few differences.

But the writing is absolute garbage. In one of the scenes the hero, a cop will ask his subordinate if he pulled the trigger unknowingly to load the gun. Won't a cop even know this? So poor writing. In another scene the hero's son who will be around 5 years holds a gun and shoots.

Boring movie overall.

After seeing some youtube videos of how good the movie is thought to give this a try. But I was sceptical because of the ratings on IMDB.

Even then decided to give it a go. BIG MISTAKE!

The movie starts of with a murder mystery but once the investigators come in the second scene I realized this is a bad movie. The investigators throughout the movie try to pull comedies which is unasked for in this horror movie.

Also the logic at the end is hilarious. Ghosts work different for different people and decide to let go of this one character even though that character killed them.

Save your time and avoid this garbage.

The movie has the exact template of National award winning "Visaaranai". But when dealing with the depth it comes nowhere near to it.

the logo of the movie is also cheap attempt to exploit the sensation of "Thoothukudi firing incident".

Writing is just okay with a good non-linear narrative for one of the scene. The screenplay is not mature at many places and the dialogues are terrible. Most dialogues are taken from memes from social media. The protagonist doesn't even have the maturity to deal with a cop.

Casting - except for the antagonist cop and the other cops all others including the protagonist are mediocre.

Complaint about this movie is that the story is predictable. Yes. Even Airlift movie's story is predictable. And in case of sports based film there's mostly the same story line. "A coach/player will lose and eventually win themselves or make someone win at the end".

It's the screenplay which makes the difference here!!

Screenplay - No-nonsense and straight to the point. It deals with the characters' screen time perfect. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Direction - Narration by the director is really good. Not fast paced. But well paced. Director had brought the things required for the film very well . Be it the acting or the environment.

Acting - Ritika Singh steals the show. There aren't words to describe her performance. Only when watching the film we realize. Madhavan as usual sticks to the character and performed just perfect!! A live example for versatile acting. Other supporting characters contribute their best. Only con is that some unknown faces don't make us feel emotional at times.

Music - Soundtrack of the film as audio doesn't bring much. But when combined with the frames of the film creates magic!! Santhosh Narayanan has given one of his best works.

There are many moments in the film where the wit of the director is highlighted - be it the jokes or the twists or social issue, they have been blended in the picture smooth.

Watch it for Ritika Singh, Madhavan, Sudha, Santhosh Narayanan!!

Orphan is the biggest relief for horror fans after a very long time. Period!!

Note: I'm not going to reveal any suspense here.

The movie does not contain much gore or violence or cheap horror which most of the horror movies do (sadly!)

This movie I rented after seeing an ad on HBO ( I don't want movies in HBO as they cut a lot) . I don't remember this ever being released in India.

Coming to the movie. The movie scares you building atmospheric tension like many successful first class movies like The omen(1976.. not 2006 ) , The exorcist, Yaavarum nalam (13B ).

The casting is excellent! Especially Isabelle Fuhrman (just 10) , Vera Farmiga and Aryana Engineer ( who played the hearing impaired kid).

The movie storyline is revealed much in the trailer; "Family adopts a girl and something is wrong about her".

The story of how each person gets suspicion about Esther, is given more detail and in a tensed way. The ways of finding more truth about Esther is done slow and makes us gripped to the story.

The twists are few but will surely blow your mind!!

The sceneries are perfect. The cold weather and snow covered locations add more chill to the movie.

I can't write any more as they will just reveal much about the movie. So just stop thinking and watch this amazing movie.

For best experience: Dark your room. Rent a blu-ray. Use a LED TV. and best if you use a home theater.

First half comedy- Second half Feelings... Stereo type Bollywood movie.

Cast: R.Madhavan and Bipasha Basu are good as a pair(Jodi Breakers) but still chemistry is not enough.Madhavan's eyes are expressive. Dunno why they gave him that big glasses which hides them. Omi Vaidhya steals the comedy part after 3 idiots.Bips hot as usual.

Cinematography: It's good especially when it captures the beauty of Greece. But nothing different in this.

Art(costumes,sets): Art is very fine throughout the movie except for Madhavan's Big glasses.

Direction: Director had used the actors well though could have used more of the lead actors, Madhavan and Bipasha Basu.

Music: BGM is good. "Kunwara" is peppy. "Dharmiyan" is a classical treat! Others are average.

Bottomline: Not a family film. So better watch alone.
