  • Essence of democracy is shown in Gangaajal.

Movie is amazing, the movie depicts what actual liberalism stands for. What democracy stands for, and depicts the advantage of living in a civilize form of government. If we do not take care of the values that make us unique we can turn into savages as well. We do have such tendencies. There are on going debates about criminal justice system being broken in democracies. The golden rule of law, rich people have better chances of getting away with a crime. Although film shows that law or constitution is not weak in sense, but it is lack of good citizenship by us that makes it weak. Faith in the civilization, law, constitution, and democracy. The rights like freedom of press, and speech. The movie is all about that. It is finely depicted. Prakash Jha is an admirable director and good story teller. Ajay Devgan's enaction of the main role is wonderful. He deserved accolades or awards for his role. It was played with maturity and sensibility. He didn't go over the top as most actors do when they get a powerful role. He played it real and controlled. Gracy singh was OK. Mukesh Tiwari was quite good too, he wasn't loud as his other movies, he was quite controlled too. Mohan Joshi played a typical villain, he did it probably millions of time. Yashpal Sharma too was simply just OK. There was nothing amazing to do for villains other than what they did in other movies. The cop gang was good too. The jail cell incident gave me goosebumps because it was based on real incident, it was barbaric. it was funny to me how they only had one curse word allowed in the whole movie. haha. The movie was not just a cop movie about anti corruption. The message hidden in it was far greater. It was about a death of human civilization, and how when it dies the fundamental rights are crushed with it. The rights of freedom of press and freedom of objection to majority. Movie showed transformation democracy to anarchy back to democracy at the end. It was simply great, I didn't expect to be such a good movie but it is. Faults in society is curable, but the cure starts within ourselves first.

  • It didn't make me laugh? Kyun? haha

MOvie is not bad, but not good either. Confusion and Chaos creates comedy, but I think bollywood has overdone the formula. It was funny in Golmaal and even other David Dhawan flicks but this one just didn't make me laugh. Maybe all the controversy surrounding it. I thought movie was ordinary, not a laugh riot like his previous comedies. Movie had certain predictability to it too. Sush ending up with salman khan. The performances were OK. Salman's best comic film was Andaz apna apna. In other films he went over the board. This one he was OK, though he did manage to keep a confuse look on his face throughout. Just like he was constipated or was it expression of confusion or distress? Hhaha. Sohail Khan, whats up with that voice? He goes over board on most of the scenes, well not his fault, probably Salman taught him to do it like that. If you see Hello Brother, you know what i mean. Katrina Kaif was not that great. She seem like a robot with no expressions. I don't think she knows Hindi, she didn't even open her mouth in most of the dialogues. She was dubbed for sure. Finally, Sushmita Sen was good. She is hot, graceful, magnetic, and when she talks she carries great confidence. She is a good actress in my mind, she has a wonderful body, great voice, great charismatic approach to each character. She is good to me all the movies she does. Arsad Warsiwas good too, funny, but he had great comic timing since Tere Mere Sapney. He is a great actor. fine performances in all the films he does, at least ones that i have seen. I hope Bollywood don't type cast him to being a comedian. I think he can be a great all around actor. Beena Kak as the mother was OK. Rajpal Yadav is a funny man, he too is a great actor. the movie was disappointing for me, although its bearable watching once. I would not say its gonna be a classic as some David's films were. The Salman controversy didn't help it either.

  • Sarkar is not a copy, but an inspired version of Godfather.

Sarkar is actually a story based on Bala Saheb Thackrey, who is the real life Sarkar. Sarkar who runs the whole state without holding any governmental position. It is true Sarkar has few points from Godfather, but you can call it an inspiration but not a copy. Sarkar tells a story of Bal Thachrey, an obedient son and a disobedient son who runs the movie business. The older son is dead, and now his wife smita Thackrey runs the production house & you see her in many film functions. OK enough of that. I just wanted to talk about the misconception of the story. It is not copy of Godfather. If you want to see frame to frame copy of Godfather. YOu got to see Amir Khan's Aatank hi Aatank. This movie was great. It was treat to watch. I thought Abhishek stole the show in the second half. He looks more mature and he matches his father well. I would say this he will be really great in coming days. Only thing he has to worry about is the people he works with and movies that he chooses. He needs to be in top batch of people. Yash Chopras Johars for family popcorn flicks and Ramu for acting showcase. I think Bachchan was good too. So was Kay Kay. Every thing was good about the movie but I just think Abhishek stole the show and all applause to him. Now he is successful at the box office and got back to back hits with good performance so now he got his own identity. Sarkar shows that he got talent, he is not in the business because of AB sr. courtesy. Sarkar was a great fun to watch. RGV is the man.
