I think this will be the next Westworld. I did not understand a single word from the first episode of the second season. I have the feeling that the creators also does not have a clue, but they had the money to continue. The show is getting tiresome, but I have to admit that the technical features are awesome. Unfortunately I don't have time at hand to waste on something I don't understand, and what just clearly wants to look smart just to look smart. Honestly after the final episode of the first season I expected something like this in the second season. The office corridor running scene was great however, so 3 stars for that, but the dialogue is incomprehensive and meaningless mambo-jambo and bla-bla-bla, so I had to deduct a few stars because I am stupid and don't understand what is this whole fuzz about.
Ok, I know this is fiction and all, but is it really that hard to find actors who are not ridicuolusly overweight? Even kids in this show are fatsos and this just makes the whole thing somehow off. Probably people from the US don't even notice this, but I am a European. Even the lead character looks like if he is always hiding something under his shirt (a watermelon maybe?) Plus the kids in the show are very annoying and unsymphatetic. Ok there are also characters whi are in good shape, the son of the sheriff for example, but he is obviously feeding on protein supplements, and that is also totally off, hence the circumstances. Majority of the cast is laughable due to their physical characteristics, sorry.
I was born and raised in a communist bloc country in a village in a poor region by a mother who was an elementary school teacher. I see many similarities in this story with what I saw and experienced as a child. The difficulties of breaking out of a poor environment and the few who make it. Although there are so many cultural differences between the South of Italy and my childhood environment, the similar struggle makes the protagonist's amazing effort to escape the grip of her origins very easy for me to understand. The events of the series become surreally familiar to me, especially from the second season onwards, and the production values seem to be getting higher and higher. Beautifully filmed, excellent music and, in my opinion, an ever-improving acting performance. I can't wait for season 4. Thank you for this great experience!
