Huge movie fan and a fan of some good TV Shows. I'm a natural critic, but only because I crave that extremely good movie where it's hard to find fatal flaws.

When I have information about a movie or TV show, I attempt to add it, but it usually gets disregarded or added improperly by the staff. So, generally, I try to avoid adding information to the item pages on here.

I rate my movies and tv shows like I would rate a paper story - if it grabbed my attention throughout the entire movie, it's automatically a 5 star, but if it drops in-and-out or if it loses logic, then that rating drops. If the movie impresses me, then the rating increases - but past a 5 star, criticism is crucial. It is rare for a movie or tv show to earn a 10 star, but it can happen. Most of them get 9 stars for being excellent movies, but there's still some flaws or there were things they could've done better.

I also like to occasionally rate a list and leave a comment about its rating I have given, because some of these IMDB lists have helped me find an excellent movie or two to watch on downtime.

If you send me an email, try to make it sound unlike "spam" messages sound. Say something like: "In response to your imdb message..."

  • A Life-Threatening, Challenging, Thrill-Ride!

Season 1 was a pure test for the show, since it had been a new release, so rules were different in Season 1, than in Season 2. In Season 1, it wasn't a competition, there wasn't any prize, and everybody could change their group throughout the journey. Plus, everybody was given 72 hours to reach the end of the leg.

But, in Season 2, they realized a lot of changes that needed to be made to improve the effectiveness and challenge of it; thus, improving the show and Alaskan experience that was gained. They upped the stakes by adding four specific teams, each with an orientation around them (The Mountaneers, The Military, The Woodsmen, and The Endurance). They also reduced the time to reach the of the leg down to 60 hours, but provided a bear-barrel at the end, filled with goodies to help them on the next leg (protein, nourishment, etc.).

Overall, this show is nothing less than a thrill-ride for every survival enthusiast out there! Whether you're in the show, fighting the competition, or you're watching the series from home, you get just as much a feeling of fear, adrenaline, hunger pains, etc. They're doing all of this for the Grand Prize of the Title of: "Best Alaskan Survivor." That's it! No cash, no new car, just a Title to show off your Alaskan survival skills!

  • Low Budget, Great Effort, Decent Acting -- Overall, not bad!

OK, first off, when reviewing/analyzing this movie, look at the fact that it has a budget of only 750,000 U.S. Dollars. I've seen Syfy movies made with budgets of 1.5 mil - 10 mil U.S. Dollars and are worse than this movie in almost every way. For the budget of this movie, they pulled off some unbelievable stuff - to the point of you hoping that they find a bright future in movie production, because if they had 10 mil U.S. Dollars, I can guarantee you that the movie will be a huge hit!!

Now, given the budget of $750k, the effects of the armor, the hull integrity, the space ship designs, the Artificial Intelligence built into the ships' mainframe, and the planetary (both, from space and ground) effects were stunning! In terms of effects and atmospheric simulations, this automatically gets a 7/10, given the budget.

However, the acting was very good for first-timers or at least beginning actors, as I don't recognize many faces in this movie. They could've done better -- but could they, really? Think about it, most good actors are behind a green screen or actually jumping out of windows, but these people only had a budget of $750k, so they didn't have much to go on, and they pulled it off nicely!

Sure, it had a generic plot, but this is typical with low-budget movies.

Overall, I give this movie a 6/10, because it had great special effects, not bad acting, and generic plot with slight enhancements - throw in an extremely low budget of $750k, and you got yourself a seller!
