Let's make a movie about torturing kitties and puppies... apparently people love cruel movies so it should be a success. Right?
Well, this movie is not about torturing kitties and puppies but you get the idea of how bad this movie is in those terms. I really don't get it.
I loved the first half of the movie, but after that it all goes down.
I like the performance of all actors, the director was good, music was good, all was good, but the story turns 180° and I hate it after that.
If you think this is like rocky but with a woman instead of a men, you are wrong. I enjoy all Rocky movies, but this movie takes some of rocky ideas and put a twist you could only desire to your worst enemy.
So they make you care about the main character and then play with that in a cruel way.

I admire Randi since I was a kid because he was passion about the truth, and his effort to expose BS. I always hear about he was a magician, but never got the chance to see him in those days. Gladly, this documentary tell his story from the beginning to the present, so there is a lot of footage of his magician days.
The story sometimes jumps back and forward, but I think in a good way. Overall is told chronologically.
A long story compress in so few minutes. But don't feel like was too short or too long.
Also is great to see people that was involve in all those stories talking about it in the present.
If you are a fan of Randi, for sure you most watch it.

Some people recommend this film so I take a shot. I was expecting maybe be similar to Cast Away, that I like. But even when both are slow and long movies, Captain Phillips is not near as good.
The story is fairly good and some parts are "just good", but overall I didn't like it. I don't know, is like I don't care. Maybe was the acting or the awkward dialogue between Tom Hanks and the hijackers. Generally I like tom hanks but this time I think he didn't make a good job. Hijackers also feel fake. At least in some parts.
Hard to really feel immerse on the story. And some parts are excessively long that make you think "What I am waiting for?". Mostly on the last 3rd of the movie.
At least there is a happy ending, as the real story.
Quite some people seem to like it anyway, so even when I don't recommend it, I suppose you could still give it a chance and watch it.
