Everyone involved in / with The Diplomat should be damn proud of their part in the creation of this intelligently crafted thriller. To the cast selection to the writing to the acting... I am in awe of this series.
The first season was a pleasant, brilliant surprise. The second season continues where the 1st season left off and is as good as or better than the first season!
Not to be overlooked. The intelligence of series is matched by subtle humor (unintended consequences of characters relationships & actions).
I have already started re-watching the second season...
I can't wait for the 3rd season. Good luck trying to top the first two seasons.

Why, why, why? Why is the great John Travolta in a B-movie?
How does an actor that gave us: 1. 1994 Pulp Fiction 2. 1997 Broken Arrow 3. 1999 Swordfish 4. 2003 Basic 5. 2010 From Paris with Love end up in a B-movie?
The movie reeks low-budget.
Possible reasons: A. Mr. Travolta lost a bet.
B. Mr. Travolta was blackmailed into making the movie.
C. Mr. Travolta has suffered some catastrophic financial setback.
D. Mr. Travolta is abusing drugs.
E. Mr. Travolta has suffered some kind of mental breakdown.
I am pleading for any family member or any close friend of Mr. Travolta to stage an intervention.
Movie Stars don't do Low-Budget B Movies. And John Travolta knows better!

Despite the movie's $80 Million dollar budget, this movie is painful to watch. Not even all the stunts & special effects in the movie could save it.
This movie should come with several mandatory warnings.
1. Bad acting 2. Bad dialogue (writing) One cannot escape the feeling that prior to shooting the movie, the writer(s) and actors decided to bet on who could F'up the movie the most.
My vote goes to... the actors. With their wooden performances and unsympathetic characters, I started voting for the bad guy early on. Actually, Mr. Tahar Rahim did a decent job given what he had to work with.
If you decide to watch the movie, you have 1 hour & 54 painful minutes to endure. Keep the remote close by and perhaps a decent bottle of wine or scotch.
