I found it to teeter on the melodramatic side as opposed to being a competent drama. Very hard to care about these characters and a lot of the supporting cast members didn't rise to the occasion. It's a contrived story that probably isn't close to being a reflection of reality. I thought I would have had an emotional reaction, but I didn't smile at all.
I did rate this at a six purely because of Dakota Fanning's repertoire- from her early childhood roles to now, I've never been disappointed by her films. She's absolutely phenomenal and steals every scene with her great looks, charm, and devotion. Without her, the movie would have crumbled.

I like the basic premise and the two actors. I would say this movie was too "Hollywood" and resembled a 45 minute detective TV series such as Blue Bloods or Law and Order. It wasn't an exciting or groundbreaking movie and the characters didn't have any credible or defining moments. I would lightly encourage people to watch it for the mild humor or convincing film locations, but that they likely will be underwhelmed by the story itself - everything that happens is heavily manipulated.
Some of the jokes worked for me and it was a quick 90 minute film to kill time on a Saturday morning, but it's pretty forgettable.

Whoever commissioned this movie needs to be forever barred from a movie set in the future. Most of the time, I can give an awful movie a fair chance and hope that things turn around. After seeing the reviews here, I prepared myself for the worst and knew it would be a failure.
The funniest thing is at the beginning when these two attractive women were ogling at a Neanderthal-looking being who hasn't cut his hair in five years. Also, When you see only a handful of passengers on an overseas flight, that already tells you something is amiss. All in all, the story is unexplained.
The writers stretched a potential Twilight Zone episode into 90 minutes of nonsense and predictability. Nothing is noteworthy, except perhaps for the music.
