I like seasons 1-4 a lot, I give them strong 8 stars out of 10. But season five is very disappointing. I give it only 3 stars. It still has the energy and the special efects of previous seasons but lacking is a good script and good dialogue. Too much of verbal exposition by various characters, explaining what they are planning to do. I didn't care anymore and I felt boredom watching season five, which has never happened during previous seasons.

This show starts well, the first episode was promising, but then it quickly goes south. Predictable, slight, quirky, unfunny and unrealistic situations one after another. It is nice to look at because the houses are nice, their gardens are nice, the neighborhoods are nice. Even the shrinks' office space is super nice and cozy. Cozy is the key operative word to describe this show. Everybody is nice here, pleasant and decent, even when they are imperfect and make mistakes. It's all BORING and FORGETTABLE. The show creators have no idea how real life works and how normal and real people behave.

This show is very enjoyable. Very clever writing and plotting. Complex characters who despite their flaws can be quite likeable. The acting is excellent, especially the actors playing the main character and his ex-wife. It is a pleasant and relaxing watch because it's like voyerism into the world of rich, upper middle class people, with their luxurious homes and lifestyles. I'd give it a 9 but the last episode has disappointed me, it is all tied up too neatly and conveniently, the ending makes the show become a fairy-tale that has little to do with real life. Ultimately, this show seems to be about nothing.
