  • An extremely good watch for L fans.

First of all, I don't know why some people dis this movie- saying "This has nothing to do with Death Note". For the record, that's because it isn't supposed to have anything to do with Death Note.

I went to HMV last weekend and when I saw this movie, I had to buy it- I am a huge fan of L and seeing the title and cover I thought this would be a good watch. I was right.

From the beginning, I enjoyed this movie. I liked that the last days of L's life were spent solving a case, visiting Wammys and smiling?:D I also liked Near's appearance, and no offence but they weren't going to find a Thai boy with white hair. Near was very sweet and his liking for toys and genius ability showed during the course of the movie.

Maki was an interesting character, by the end I had started to like her, In the beginning I despised her to be honest.

I cried at the ending, it was very touching. Showing this was the end. L's final words were very moving and he actually smiled!

L fans will enjoy this movie a lot, I think.

All in all, this was a very good watch and I'm glad that I bought it.

    8/10.

  • The Human who's name is written in the note shall die.

A couple of months ago, a special showing of Death Note was showing at my town's local comtempary arts centre. I had never heard of Death Note before this and decided to go and see it.

It was one of the best films I've seen in a long time.

After reading the manga and watching the anime, I agree there is some plot changes and it is not the most accurate adaption but it beats the Dragonball adaption I'm sure everyone will agree (For the record, I like The Dragonball manga and anime:)

Light Yagami, I thought was portrayed very well, he had a sense of evil about him and everyone I'm sure saw his personality change. L, I loved. L is my favourite fictional character and I thought Ken'ichi Matsuyama captured L's personality without going too overboard. He also looked like L.

Ryuk, the special effects are actually good as the movie goes on. At first, I'll admit it, I laughed but by the end I got used to him.

I am now a huge fan of Death Note and highly recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the live-action (despite the subs, but what can you do) and thought the second movie was very good too.

    9/10. x

  • A Masterpiece In The Anime World.

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to Death Note; to be honest, at first I wasn't that impressed but gradually I became hooked. As many people know, the story starts with Light Yagami, a straight-A student finding a notebook dropped by a shinigami death god,Ryuk. The rules of the Death Note clearly state, whoevers name is written in the note shall die. With this power Light starts to kill criminals in order to create a perfect world. But when legendary detective,L comes on the case, It turns into a game of life or death. I am completely hooked on Death Note, obsessed is more a word. I watch the anime whenever I can and have read the manga. The live-action was impressive despite the inaccuracy in some parts.Throughout the series, you can see Light's power getting to him and you feel for him in a way. My favourite character had be L:Enough said:) At the end of the anime, all I could say was "what a masterpiece." I truly is and if you are a fan of anime/manga I would highly recommend it.

    10/10.x
