Al pacino plays an insomniac and he does it so well. his droopy eyes and his hunched over back add to the effect of his sleeplessness. Robin Williams eeiry reasoning is more freaky then pure rage. Hillary Swank plays the girl that is trying to make it big in cop world and stumbles upon the answer. This is an excellent movie w/ a lovely twist at the end and a capturing tale. Much better then the 1997 original,. i recommend anyone to see it. 11 on a scale from 1-10.
I suppose i did't know what to expect when i entered the movie theater.
the previews offered no clues as to what the movie would be about and the closest guess i could make of the movie would be that it was going to be like the mothman prophecies. Once i watched the movie i realized that was a bad guess because the mothman prophecies was actually freaky. This movie was so amazingly boring that I actually left the theater to go see some of the other movies playing there. I had to ultimatly come back (unfortunatly) because my friends wanted to see the ending. I would say the best part of the movie is the ending. The movie was a mix of the sixth sense, mothman prophecies (come on people- how many movies can you make about people drawing an insect?) and others. The movie became cliche and predictable and I REALLy don't recommend it. I'll give it 3 out of 10 points only because I feel sorry for the producers and the bad publicity they're going to get because of this movie.

Being the loyal internet movie database fan that i am, i went to see what others had to say about the mexican before i rented it. Others trashed it to the point that I felt like an idiot for even considering renting it. The my dad told me i should try it out. It wasn't bad at all. It was hilarious to see that hot, lovable goofball Brad Pitt try to get this gun and screw up royally. The arguments that Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt's characters had was just so adorable. I mean, there arguments were believable. But it wasn't JUST a "cute" movie... it actually had a plot. That sounds like a dumb comment I'm sure- every movie HAS a plot... but others had informed me differently. The plot was quite obvious- Brad Pitts quest for a gun that is legendary in Mexico and America. And it was an ACTION movie... there were actually parts that had you covering up your ears waiting for a gun shot to ring out. It was a good movie... there was nothing wrong with it. I recommend that people go see it... despite what some of your friends have been saying about it. If I had listened to my friends, I might not have gotten the chance to see this great movie.
