The fights are bad, the story is bad, the characters are bad. Seems like they put in half effort on everything in this movie and hoped that Jackie Chan alone would make people want to watch this. I watched this movie for free and I still feel robbed, I could have spent that time doing anything else and it would've been better than sitting through this movie. The actor playing the main character didn't get in shape at all for this movie; he is built like a small girl and it's hard to believe he can punch through anything other than a wet paper napkin. Lastly kung fu is all but useless for self defense; however I can appreciate the stylish choreography it brings into movies like Ip Man. There was no such fancy eye candy choreography in this movie, and is possibly the worst martial arts movie I've ever seen.
I thought it was an alright movie. Its not very complicated and does a good job being an entertaining kids movie. It may not hold adults' attention the full way through, I personally only watched the first half before finishing the rest of the movie later while eating lunch. This was because the story is very predictable and the dialogue bland. However the animation is done well and the movie carries a good message for kids.
The main character as Ultraman didn't really intrigue me too much, but I get the sense the original Ultraman had a much different origin and I would've been interested in how the original came to be. The movie didn't really delve into that or how he got his powers. I'm assuming its all technology, but I could be wrong.

This is one of only a select few movies ever made that make you think that yourself or any other untrained amateur could've acted better than the main lead. I skipped 90 percent of the scenes with the main lead actress in it. She was literally unbearable to watch, which in turn made the movie unbearable to watch whenever she was on screen. I finished this movie in less than an hour by skipping mostly everything except the interesting visuals, and she still managed to get on my nerves. If she was the only problem with this movie it would receive a 3 out of 10, but the denseness of certain characters made the entire plot hard to believe. For example, sending a ship with warheads aboard before even doing basic reconnaissance.
