  • This movie sucked!!!

OK, not the worst movie I've ever seen but it sure it up there. Yes the fight scenes are amusing, if you like the surreal and impossible which, I might add, I don't. The story line is quite laughable; making no sense whatsoever. I'm sure there is some sort of meaning behind the final fight scene, I mean they do fight for an extensive period of time, making this yet another scene that is virtually impossible. But what that meaning is supposed to be, I'm not fully aware. And I don't mean the pretty basic one that is all but stated.

Anyway, this is just completely and utterly a waste of time and money in my opinion. I suppose if you enjoy complete fantasy and fiction, want to see some computer generated material and care little for acting and plot, then you'd enjoy this movie and give it a rating of 10/10.

    I personally rate it a 2/10.

  • Wow...you guys are harsh!

I may be in the minority but I was first introduced to this show once it was on syndication and actually liked it. I never saw the reason to write such an extended response that dealt with the complete and utter negativity of a TV show or movie as I've seen here. It truly is amazing that there are individuals that would sit there and write such elongated responses. Is it political, absolutely. This show is somewhat ahead of its time, as I don't recall a strong effort being made to concern ourselves with the environment at that time. Regardless, I enjoyed it and whereas I have not seen this show in quite a while, I imagine that I'd enjoy it as much as I did in the past were I to see it again.

I happened along this documentary one Sunday afternoon after 9-11 in 2001. I originally was intrigued because I am a New Yorker but also because, sadly, I really didn't have as much knowledge about this great city that I live in as I should have and of course also because it was soon after that tragic day in September and I wanted to watch anything and everything relating to that day. To my surprise it didn't have anything with regard to 9-11, being completed before 2001. I continued to watch because I wanted to know more about the history of my city. Sure I knew about the Dutch, about the English taking over, the changing of the name but this film taught me a lot about people I didn't know much if anything about - Fiorello Laguardia, Al Smith, Walt Whitman - and whereas I knew about Lincoln and FDR to name two, my knowledge about their relation to New York was pitiful.

Anyone who has any desire to gain some knowledge about New York should watch this. I picked up the CD today because the songs on it are amazing - very deep and very emotional. Anyone who enjoys history will probably enjoy this film. I got it as a Christmas present in 2001 and it's been one of the best presents I've ever received.
