So we have to label nicotine products with a warning: "Nicotine is addictive" but not sugar products? Or caffeinated coffee or green tea (which also contains nicotine)? Nicotine is used to treat Parkinsons. Nicotine is basically the same as vitamin B3 found in every multivitamin. It is basically harmless when inhaled. Check out Discover magazine's article about this "wonder drug" and draw your own conclusions.
The business aspect of the story on the other hand is pretty cool but they chose a questionable demographic in young people who don't typically have the wherewithal or wisdom to practice constraint.
The hypocrisy runs deep when it comes to protecting kids from unhealthy practices and the likelihood is that the tobacco lobby is behind the anti vape movement.

The story has promise and I watched both available episodes. The staged pauses before anyone answers a question and the stereotypical young female walking away in a huff before slamming a door become tedious, and I wonder how long the episodes would be if they just talked like normal people. I was reminded of every soap opera I catch glimpses of when I'm channel surfing.
I haven't read the book and based on the reviews I read I probably won't. Most of the criticism of the book also centers around the lack of character development. But the story has potential and if the characters become less annoying then I'll stick with it.

This was a bit of a struggle to get through but no worse than most of the movies made during the covid and peak woke era. It's set in 2024 and honestly I was hoping that Fauxi would be rotting in jail by that time, but that wasn't depicted in the movie.
When you were studying biology you may have learned that viruses become more contagious and less deadly as they mutate. Covid has apparently turned that wisdom on its head or perhaps it's just the side effects of the vaccines that are killing off huge swaths of the populace. Songbird focuses on an immune person who works as a courier in LA. The CDC doesn't seem keen to find people who are similarly immune from C19.
I wouldn't go out of my way to watch this but it has its moments,
