If you watch this movie you are likely French-speaking or at most a Mediterranean-connoisseur attracted by the ways of this "little Island", not really French nor Italian (Genoan). If you just found it by chance you might miss a lot of the subtext which is directed to the audience: the tension is always there even when you can't see it, the inner issues of the modern Corsican society are depicted with a certain "finesse" but always expected (though addressing more directly, but partially only, the underlying racism). If you watched other Corsican movies or series (e.g. Mafiosa, which some actors played in) you know what to expect, the relentless corrupting wave of the Corsican "milieu" will wash away all hope. Interesting movie for the ones who know what they are watching.
Being familiar with the story and protagonists I enjoyed tremendously the first 6 episodes, upbeat tempo and well played. But the last 6 episodes are going circles with the never ending speech from Vincent Lindon. Yes he has political ambitions but the conformist rambling about finance (where he confuses many different things) doesn't add more depth, similarly as his insufferable daughter (sub-plot about her addiction is boring).
It looks like all the budget has been allocated in the first 6 episodes (with all the travels)... similarly the absence of Ramzy in the last episodes is unfortunate as he plays his character to perfection and brings more colors to the start of the season.

Very interesting documentary sharing various points of views of different protagonists, with both historical and "human-level" perspectives.
