  • Unfocused and shallow.

It takes about 20 minutes to realize that the movie is not just flying through the life and times of Marie Curie in order to get to a point, a development, most notably a discovery, or a conflict, but it goes on, with quick cuts and superficial insight to gloss over every aspect of her life. It's a pity that such an extraordinaire life should be treated with so little care. No great achievement of development seems to be a focus here, and to make matters worse, the movie also jumps to times she never would have known to offer the audience a thread of connection to the implementation of radioactive therapy in medicine, the atomic bomb and Chernobyl. These cuts have no reason or purpose. It becomes after some time tiresome and even annoying how a movie can be so unfocused and so superficial with one of the most prolific scientific careers whose influence is immeasurable.

  • How enjoyable!

I've caught a glimpse of Fargo on TV and i decided not to watch it half way through but really enjoy it from beginning to the end. And i loved it. The most amazing thing here are the always lovable characters. You're gonna commiserate with those who are lost and find sympathy in those most crooked. They are all well casted, perfectly played and most importantly real. the dialogue is what keeps this movie witty till the end. The little exchange of words between the characters is amazingly written. what starts off as a well thought out plan spins out of control very quickly but it wont catch you off guard. its a movie definitely worth watching for all its traits- writing, directing, characters, dialogue, the cold scenery. its one of those movies that leave you with a feeling of time well spent and art very much enjoyably consumed.

  • Well, not bad.

I cant agree with some that this move is hilarious but its very funny and does meet expectations when it comes to these kind of films. you get tits, penis jokes, weird characters and unexpected situations. its a road trip movie about friends and the awkward people they meet one the way. you've seen the story, you're familiar with the outcome and kind already see who is gonna fall in love or just bang who. but the little parts, the details and characters you do see for the first time do add up to the very entertaining atmosphere and good laughs. watch it i if you wanna relax, have a good time, with friends or whatever. its worth your time. you're not gonna feel like you wasted it.

  • Excellent!

I dot get why it got such a poor rating at IMDb. I saw the movie not knowing anything about it and i loved it, to say the least. Its a good cast first of all and the story is just great. The movie is a celebration of moments that will make you laugh and a second later think, what did i just see. Its spiraling out of control just as fast as it should to make all the sense it needs to. What starts off as a simple plan just cant stay that simple. Peter Berg did a great thing writing and directing the movie and make it a continuous flow of unexpected twists and turns that keep on surprising you.

This a great movie i enjoyed very much and that i will recommend.

  • Its alright.

What i expect from teenage comedies is nudity, fart jokes and people crashing into things and falling over. don't get me wrong, i like good movies, but i wanted to watch something stupid and relax and instead i got this movie, filled with emotions and touchy feely scenes. Its fun, there are memorable characters and the story goes pretty well to places unseen before. Its just not what you'd expect. I would have loved it more with a few more laughs and a story not entirely focused on two people madly in love and then painfully split up and then getting back together and all that. The cast was great, watching this movie after watching Into the wild really put my focus on Emile and i came to realize why he remained popular and re-cast as he is a pretty good actor. His love interest, played by Elisha is also a great cast- but so is the rest of the crew. Soundtrack fits perfectly into the scenes and is well done. To sum it all up- its a different kind of teen-comedy, more on the feelings and the stupid things kids do for love. I'm just to skeptic to believe in all of it. And i was hoping for a movie a bit more stupid and relaxed than this.

  • Relaxing fun

Rarely does a movie entertain, make you laugh, keep you hooked with lovable characters and on top if it all, it relaxes. I've watched it a long time ago and it stuck with me, somewhere in the back of my head and i decided to give it another view just now. This movie is simple so you're gonna love it after a hard day just to ease your mind and relax. The characters are simple people who have their past and present explored and who find themselves in the process. Its not about issues and unresolved problems, drama and pain. There is no place for that in this kind of filming. Its up there with Mumford, another movie i liked which shares the traits- a movie made to ease your mind and feel good after watching it.

  • Very hard to watch.

I understand the awe of the people who have read and fallen in love with the novel. Im a literature major myself but this piece of work never was my genre. Russian realism is full of details, very eloquent and very very emotional. And that's what this movie is as well. Only those who like the novel will find some joy in its depiction on screen but for others this will be a very long experience. Overreactions, to much drama around acting, to much emphasizing pain and despair and hate makes this movie painful and desperate and hated. Its a movie that focuses a lot on overemphasis the hard life and along the way you will loose sympathy for the characters and just wait for it to end so you can get on with your life. Ladies in their 40's and 50's might find it touching and emotional, but that is all. Its just not speaking to the audience.

  • What did you expect?

I read a lot of bad reviews about this movie and a lot of jokes about the whole 'making a movie based on 'battleship' thing'. But when it said 'from the makers of Transformers', did you really expect something more than 130 minutes of special effects? Do you really go pay to watch a movie with deep characters good laughs and memorable action- nope, if your'e smart, you know exactly what you're paying for. Apart from the introduction, this movie is exactly what its suppose to be, big things shooting at other big things, large explosions, building falling down, and a lot of noise. Visually, there is a lot of dedication here in making destruction seem believable. Of course, you gotta have those cheesy moments of inspiration, dramatic music, the hero returns- just emphasizing how predictable it is and how many times you've seen it before. Ill recommend it to anyone who wants an action movie, who doesn't care about memorable characters or Oscar worthy performances. This movie does not even try to bring that up, it knows what its good for, it puts its focus on it and executes its goals pretty good.

  • milestone of childhood

This movie has defined generations. Kids loved it because this dude who was a good sports player got to play with these loony tones which is what the movie was all about. Its not about MJ, its not about Bugs Bunny, its not about a deep storyline or memorable characters. Its about fun and cartoons, which barely ever make sense, if you remember. Its great fun for the young folks out there, with animation that really is worth watching. Its entertainment for the entire family, combining real life with cartoons as its never done before. I love it, ill always love it. Looks like i have to add a few lines for this review to be accepted and posted. I really have nothing else to add, go ahead and watch it without expecting nothing more than fun and entertainment and you will get far more then you expect.

  • great piece of writing

I appreciate a lot what the director does, which is in this case really good work and a lot of dedication. but the writing in this one is just what keeps me remembering this movie. you've seen movies about lawyers, cops, astronauts, firemen, but how many movies are there about a spokesperson. It being the first one (i doubt its the first one ever, but for the sake of the argument) a lot had to be done in making you like this character doomed and for good reasons hated by everyone else. You might hate him in real life, but not here. Its a man who has a job, who is good at is, who likes it and tries to live a normal life. things, naturally go out of control a bit, but you still continue rooting for him. I recommend this movie highly. i regret not watching it earlier actually. Its dialog based, funny with its own jokes and very nice acting worthy of such a movie.

  • The Divide leaves me divided

I've been expecting this movie ever since I've seen the trailer hoping to see a psychological thriller that is gonna explore the dark human psyche when on edge of existence, a theme often seen in movies. At the beginning its off to a good start, questions remain unanswered and there's a part of you hooked trying to figure out wheres it gonna go next and what is this new part gonna drive the plot towards. But as it goes along, the movie descends into madness very fast. It becomes very dark, goreish and messy sooner than you hoped for which kinda leaves you surprised. The acting is superb in some characters which have their stories from before the events of the movie start, and some characters are flat and very dull, seemingly there just to create one chaos after the other. Im trying to rate the movie without giving out any spoilers. I haven't regretted watching it, it thought it was good entertainment. There was more violence than i expected, which does not bother me personally but might bother some. I just hoped for something better than i got.

  • pretty nice, funny and beautiful

After chasing this movie I finally got it. FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL is not like other romantic moves you've seen, nor like comedies and its far beyond romantic-comedies (as far as I got it). So, you might expect laughs as god as those form $) YEAR OLD VIRGIN or romance and feelings like form KNOCKED UP but you'll get something in between- pulling more towards feelings. A few GOOD laughs, many moments that cause you to grin or just smile but many where you're just amazed by the seriousness of the movie. I mean, the thing was to picture the suffering and love and fun and whatever feeling and it succeeded pretty good. With great acting, a simple story and a variety of situations in which the characters find themselves, the movie offers something in the middle of escape from the real life and the real life itself. What am I saying? Go see thins movie, you'll like it. Bu don't expect too much, just a movie with a few laughs and romance and feeling puring from every angle.

  • A good, balanced action movie with real characters.

I just saw Hellboy 2 after linking the first part and being a fan of Guillermo's work. I can just say that I love it and that its one of the best movies I've seen. And I'm not a shallow guy when it comes to movies. Its not about the special effects or action. For me, a movie has to have a lot of difference to offer. Hellboy is just one of those, considering the fact that the emphasis is on action and that there are special effect throughout most of the movie. Still, that does not mean that the movie doesn't have developing as well as interesting characters, a cast that fits perfectly into the characters and a story that concerns the main plot of the movie as well as the feelings and opinions of the characters. Now, add a few good laughs, great acting and a visual extravaganza and you'll get a good movie. Guillermo, the director and writer has proved that he is capable to make a movie with a lot of dedication and sacrifice since hes turned down so many offers because of this project. If you're a fan of the comic or if you liked the movie, you'll think the same as I, that this movie is great, if you're in for the action, your also going to like it and the effects, costumes and the many places the movie takes place are something you haven't seen before. Feelings of love, hate and friendship just pouring out of the screen while the directing leads you through a great story.

  • A god action movie, nothing else.

Not knowing ANYTHING about the story, the game nor ANYTHING else about this movie I went to see it. I'm mostly a fan of new things in the movie business since all you see today are remakes and sequels. So, here goes. The3 movie is new. Maybe with characters you have seen in every action movie, but they all fit pretty well with the characters. Set in the future, you wont see laser guns or high technology, but mud, old looking machines and the place and time will mostly remind you of WWII movies. So, the world consists of four great nations fighting one another for the remaining sources of power and in the middle of their never-ending war and battle they get threatened by something that does not make difference between them but just wants to delete the human kind, taking its place. So, as you might think, the enemies are forced to play together and fight this madness that has come upon us and as the movie develops towards the obvious end you'll find yourself more pulled towards the visual effects than the characters or the acting or the story. Yes, you might have heard it and yes, its true- the visuals remind you highly of the ones seen in SKY CAPTAIN: WORLD OF TOMORROW but don't get ahead of yourself cause its no the same, just reminds of… So, the movie has some action, blood, explosions and a great visual background on one hand but it leaks the story and some acting. I'm not saying it sucks but you should first make sure that you'll like it before you see it (just so you don't get disappointed) and you shouldn't if you're one of those that like movies with deep thoughts and a message.

  • a great, fun and entertaining movie!

I remember when the movie came out. I wasn't much into it thinking that its just another comedy about sex and all that stuff thats just spouse to bring young sex-minded teens into the cinemas. So i avoided it and years later i ended up with the DVD. I sat down thinking the same but i was open for any surprises and yes- i was surprised. The movie is great! Starting from the cast, the movie isn't blinded by big names or by new names... its all in the middle with actors you might have seen before, or not. As far as the acting goes, its great and the cast fits perfectly with the variety of characters and that variety just adds to the freshness of the movie. The story- as shallow as it seems its well told with a lot of feelings and simple but still funny dialogs and situations. Its a great movie that I've seen many times since i first have and I'm gonna see it again- right now.

  • pretty realistic... not much of a comedy

This is one of those movies you just don't know where to put it or what to think of it. Was it really good, or bad...? Well, the thing is here that the movie has a good idea seen many times before. you know- two people have sex and the girl ends up being pregnant. I've seen like 3 or 4 movies like this but its "Knocked up" that will be the first one on that list. ("Juno" being second) A good touch is not just the clash of two people that barely know each other but she clash of worlds. You also might be pulled away form the main two characters and by the end of the movie you wont be able to know the difference between the main and the supporting cast. The humor is also something that must be spoken about. Its Seth Rogen who you laugh at and none else. Maybe its because the movie tries (and manages) to keep a serious impression and not end up being just another stupid comedy. If so, its good but still, Ben Stone (thats Seth Rogen in case you didn't know) holds all the funny lines along with his roommates while on the other hand all you get from the rest of the characters is seriosity. Now, YES, its a comedy but not just that. Its pretty good with a storyline hat you know how it will end but still, it has those little turns that make the road to the end of the movie unpredictable. So if you're in for a couple of laughs- go ahead, if you're in for a serious story- go ahead. If you're in for the action- nope... wait! Its a nice and balanced movie. Go see it, if nothing- you'll remember to put a condom on next time.

  • good for the soul... god for entertainment too

Now, when seeing a trailer you cant help but to create your version of the movie you plan to watch. Mostly, you were right, here you ain't. Some might think that the movie is going to be about two old dying men becoming friends and than they make a list of crazy and stupid things they want to do and they go ahead and do that. This movie Ain't so. It begins slightly slow with introducing the characters and them getting to know each other as you get to know all of them. The chemistry between Jack N. and Morgan F. is very nice. They both seem to have that acting experience that makes them balance their dramatic moments and those backed with a bot of humor or sarcasm. Still, no matter what they say or what they think, you seem to like them both. Than there's the 'list' that might, in the arms of a young and unexperienced screenplay writer, become stupid and shallow for two old men but its good. The movie than, does not just follow the list but follows more the development of the characters relationship, their lives and the parts where they open up more and more towards each other and the viewer. As the movie slowly comes to an end you will be completely blown away by the characters. Its ans inspiring movie, as i read somewhere and it truly is. Now for some it might be about death, our last wishes, the humble thought of a man on the edge of his own grave. Anyhow, the movie isn't just plain entertainment. Is has the touch that makes it a bit faster than some slow-going dramas are but this time the drama is realistic. Go see this movie, no matter what genre you prefer mostly... Its gonna be good for you.

  • A good movie that should be bad.

Take "Jaws" and throw it into the desert, to a small place that has no more than about 20 inhabitants. Its suppose to suck but the movie doesn't. Maybe the critics ate it, maybe the box office gross fits into a piggy bank but its fun. The movie has characters that work together as are Val and Earl. They should have made more movies together. Its not scary as it should be, i think its actually more fun than scary. Many jokes are at the right place, the setting in place would not work this good if it was set anywhere else. Its been a long time since I've seen the rest of the movies but in my opinion this one is by far the best concerning the character development, their chemistry, the fun and the rest.

  • a pretty good teenage movie

Teenage movies can be divided into comedies and horrors. This ain't either one. Its more like a thriller. Its a story about some friends starting a rumor to see how it develops and than, it develops against their will and reveals something about them too.

The story, therefor, is pretty good and worked out in a positive way. The acing is also good, as good as it gets when teenage movies are concerned. The whole concept is not seen before so if nothing, see it as a new movie. A god one that develops pretty good towards the end and even dough the ending is too perfect , get over it and enjoy. As i heard the movie is also pretty realistic concerning the college life and the surrounding. The story inside the story also fits pretty good. Usually these things stand out too much.

  • get over some details and it'll be good

I remember missing this movie when it came out but as i read the reviews i thought that its either crap or underrated. Than i saw it and form my point of view its underrated. The directing is pretty good, the way the camera moves through the house and its points from where the camera films is darn good. The acting also works. All the actors portrayed their characters pretty good, not letting them stand out and they also developed through the story. Some little flaws as are the situations the characters find themselves are a bit out of the frame but let go of it and you'll get a good one. There's also some suspense and moments where the second matters. Those moments make you rush... So, if you're ready to let go and just go with the movie youl be entertained Otherwise, you'll just be one of those underrating this movie.

  • better than you'd expect

When the movie started i thought that its gonna be just another one of those stupid ones where the most important thing is a car blowing up. That would be my guess but as the story developed after 15 minutes, the movie got better. A variety of good characters made it even better and a touch of humor even more. But this does not mean that things wont be blowing up. The story is also developing pretty good and it takes unexpected turns as the good guy turn bad and the bad ones turn good. The whole concept of a dude being in the wrong place at the wrong time is good and till the end you'll just be waiting for it to hit you with another new situation that you haven't seen before, nor later.
